Xbox One Wireless Controller Batterystatus

Hey everyone. at first sorry for my bad english

I use a xboxone controller on my windows10 pc. With the old Xbox360 Controller i just had to push the "Xbox" botton in the middle and it shows the status of my battery. is this also possible for xbox one controller? didnt find it :/

Could you elaborate on where does it show the battery status? Which app/program did you expect to display the battery status in?

 

Well, the Xbox 360 use to show battery status when you pressed the guide button, so the most logical place to implement it, would be within the Game Bar, that's used now when you press the Guide button on the XBox One Controller.

Any indicator would at least warn you, currently if your battery is low the controller just Shuts off, no warning.

It blows my mind that wireless controller for windows is such an after thought, they would overlook something like Battery Status.

 

@cy43rguru I feel the battery indicator should be in the bottom right next to the date/time in windows. And when the battery is down to 10% it would give you a notification pop up on screen and while in game warning you about the lower battery.

I disable the gamebar in windows 10 so my XBO controller will work with Steam Big Picture mode. Maybe partner with Steam to have a battery indicator in the Big Picture hud.

Something needs to be done though. I've had two gaming sessions where my controller just quit on me and I had to scramble for the Escape key to pause the game and replace batteries.

i'm tried this, but it says only for xbox one elite wireless controller. i have the normal wireless controller :/

 

Here's something weird. There must have been a recent update with Steam Big Picture because now there's a 4 pip battery indicator at the top. So nice! The only thing they could improve on this is giving you a blip indicator in game if you're low on battery.
Some kind of warning that doesn't get in the way.

 

Hmmm no 4 pip battery status here on mine. You must be lucky or something, I am running latest version to.

Regardless I don't have any clue why Microsoft would not include it within game-bar.

Maybe there is only one employee working on the drivers, and we will never get correct drivers
