  1. Xbox One Wireless Bluetooth Controller Unresponsive in Windows 10 Games

I just purchased a brand new XBox One controller, specifically for PC Gaming (I do not own an XBox One).

I have followed all instructions for connecting it.

I have downloaded the XBox Accessories app, which showed there was an update to be applied -I did the update successfully, there are no other updates.

All other drivers (motherboard, GPU, Windows OS, etc.) are all up to date.

I have restarted my pc, and made sure my controller is connected.

When I start games, it does this 'slow blink' thing in the center logo of the controller (not as fast as when bluetooth is syncing), it goes solid after a few slow blinks... and then it doesn't work. At all. Nothing registers, it doesn't matter what game
I'm trying to play -I've played several games, which have all been compatible with XBox 360 controllers through Windows in the past.

Every time I try to test my controller in wireless mode, the inputs are severely laggy -if they show up at all (if I press several buttons within 1-2 seconds, it literally just gets backed up and drops the last few when everything else chugs through). It's
like gaming on an incredibly old PC with an old PS2-based keyboard. I do not have a "very old" PC. I have a very high end PC, specifically put together for gaming -a task which it does very well, outside of this controller not working.

When I connect the controller through a cable, I get flawless response times -but I bought a WIRELESS controller so that I wouldn't be tethered by a cable... if I wanted a controller with a cable, I would have gotten a $15 gamepad and not needed to put more
    money in M$' pockets.

Can someone please help me get this thing to work? I'm at my wits end here, and nothing seems to be working. :/

    :)

Xbox wireless controller doesn't vibrate in bluetooth mode

    Hi annix,

The OP posted this thread under the "Gaming on Windows PC/PC Gaming" category of the Xbox forums. Also contrary to popular belief, the Xbox One console does not support Bluetooth wireless technology. The controllers connect to the console using a proprietary
wireless technology unique to the console and the
Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10
. Bluetooth connectivity is reserved for Windows 10 only and available on current production of Xbox One wireless controllers.

I hope that clears things up.

Can the X Box One Wireless Controller with Bluetooth also be used with the X Box One Wireless Adapter for Windows 10?

    Hi Beau,

Thank you for coming to the Xbox forums, I'd be happy to answer that.

The Xbox One Wireless controller with Bluetooth can be connected to a Windows 10 PC with a USB cable, Bluetooth, or with the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10, so yes, it can be connected via the adapter. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 is not
compatible with an Xbox 360 controller and will need the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. I'll provide the support articles with this information:

    I hope this helps!

i cant connect the xbox bluetooth controller to the pc (windows 10)

Hello welcome to the forum! You can try this:

    Bluetooth

Xbox One Wireless Controllers may support connecting to your PC via Bluetooth. Your controller has this feature if it looks like the one on bottom in this illustration:

On Bluetooth-supported controllers, the plastic around the Xbox button is part of the face of the controller. On controllers without Bluetooth, the plastic around the Xbox button is part of the top, where the
    bumpers are.

    Notes

    • Bluetooth requires a PC running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. See Windows Update: FAQ to learn how to get the latest Windows update.
    • For best performance, update your controller. See How to update your Xbox One Controller on Windows 10.
    • Bluetooth is supported on PCs, tablets, and laptops. It is not supported on mobile devices.
    • Bluetooth does not support any attachments, such as headsets, chatpads, or the Xbox Stereo Adapter.
    • We recommend connecting only one controller at a time using Bluetooth.
Follow these steps to pair your controller to your PC using Bluetooth:

    1. Make sure you have updated your PC to the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. See Windows Update: FAQ to learn how to get the latest Windows update.
    2. For best performance, update your controller. See How to update your Xbox One Controller on Windows 10.
    3. Turn on your Xbox Wireless Controller by pressing the Xbox button.
    4. Press the controller Connect button for three seconds and release.
    5. On your PC, select Start, then Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
    6. Turn on Bluetooth so your PC can discover Bluetooth devices.
      1. Select Xbox Wireless Controller > Pair.

For help with Bluetooth, see Connect and troubleshoot Bluetooth on your Xbox One Wireless Controller.
