Xbox One Wireless adapter works, but no Audio from Stereo headset connected to controller

So i went to the Microsoft Store and picked up the Xbox One wireless Adapter, I plugged it in the USB port and the controller paired with it just fine. But when I use my stereo headset by plugging it into the controller there is no audio, hitting mute does
not make the center button turn orange. I tried removing the bottom attachment and re-plugging it but no luck, it's like it's not even detected. There is no option to have my PC audio come through the controller. I thought this was a stated function of the
Adapter, that it would allow for audio from up to 2 Stereo headsets and 4 chat headsets.

I don't see any drivers or software to control it, I'm also having a hard time finding it in the Device Manager.

    :)

new XB1 controller on PC - no audio

    hello folks,

I've got quite a difficult one that I can't seem to solve:

    - have new Xbox One controller with integrated headphone jack (3.5mm)

    - have new Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10

    - have Microsoft Xbox Stereo Headet

    - have Microsoft Stereo Headset adapter

Running Windows 10 (all available updates installed, build 1511 - november update).

Controller firmware updated as of November 28th.

I connect the wireless adapter to USB, power on the new controller and pair successfully. The controller works with games, all buttons working, very little lag. So far so good. When I connect the stereo headset to the controller, my windows volume control
shows "Headphones (USB Audio Device)" but I can't hear anything. I thought maybe it doesn't work wirelessly, so I unplugged the wireless adapter and connected my new controller via USB. The same thing happens, no sound.

I unplugged my headset from the new controller, I plugged in the stereo headset adapter into the new controller, I plugged in my headset into the adapter. In Windows sound settings, I see "Headphones (USB Audio Device) - 2" but now the sound works! So I
unplug the controller from USB and pair it again with my Windows 10 Wireless adapter. The audio works, as long as the headset adapter is connected to the controller. The built-in headphone jack on the new controller doesn't produce sound.

I checked the forums before posting and others are stating they are having issues but they can get the sound to work. Any suggestions?

  3. Can I use a Xbox one sterio headset with a DVI converter?

Just tested this and it will work.

Xbox One connected to a monitor using an HDMI Cable. Set the Display settings to DVI. Meaning no audio is being transferred over the cable. Attached Headset Audio adapter to an updated xbox one controller and plugged in the Xbox One Stereo headset to the
adapter, got Stereo sound on the headset without any issues.

Hey again, Sam! I realize that I answered your newer thread
here, but I wanted to give you a heads up. Please do not create more than one thread for the issue you are running into. Creating multiple threads can cause confusion with others attempting to help you, and having one thread keeps all troubleshooting in
one place. If you have a bump you would like to add, please simply bump the thread you already have open.

    Thanks for understanding!

my control's headphones input is failing

The Xbox One does not support USB headset, the console only supports wired connection to the controller via the 3.5 mm jack or with the Xbox One headset adapter. which connects to the bottom of the controller, or you can use a wireless headset which connects
straight to the Xbox One wireless connection. Your best bet would be to purchase the Xbox One headset adapter.

Headset Adapter and Beats Studio Headset

Same issue with iPhone headset. Audio works great, in party chat, others here high pitch whistle. While less than desirable, it may be that the adapter is not designed to work with inline mic's. Look at the last item in the list below. "Any 3.5mm stereo
headset (that uses the CTIA plug standard) can get stereo game audio by plugging into the adapter"

I hope that the headset can work.

    From XBOX.COM Headset Adapter page:

    For game audio:

    - Legacy gaming headsets get game audio from the back of the console from the S/PDIF port or from your TV/receiver with RCA cables. Get chat audio by connecting the 2.5mm chat cable to the adapter

    - New Xbox One headsets – get chat and stereo directly from the adapter. No need to connect anything to the console

    - Any 3.5mm stereo headset (that uses the CTIA plug standard) can get stereo game audio by plugging into the adapter

    Logitech G933 Patch

    Hello karimsastre,

What problems are you having with this headset?

From the logitech support site -

    Xbox One™

The G933 gaming headset can be connected to your Xbox One™ console using the included the 3.5mm audio cable.

    1. Set the mode switch on the G933 gaming headset to Wireless Off mode for passive audio mode, or set to Wireless On mode for active audio mode with additional features.
    2. Connect the G933 gaming headset to the Xbox One™ controller using the included 3.5mm cable. NOTE: Older Xbox One™ controllers may not support direct 3.5mm cable connections and may require the Xbox One™ Stereo Headset Adapter (sold separately)
NOTE: Headset will not operate via USB Wireless Mix Adapter on Xbox One.

    STEREO HEADSET ADAPTER

    Hello Sugar2Kocaine,

When you say "adapter", are you referring to the "Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter" ? If so, we have two of them and both work well, even after the
new update. They came with our "Xbox One Stereo Headset", and I think they are the best headsets you can get for the money. With that said, the first thing I
would do is double check >All settings >Settings > Display & sound >Volume >Chat mixer and
Party chat output Headset . Next, are you using the newer "Xbox Wireless Controller" with the built-in 3.5mm stereo headset jack?
Then, remove the adapter and just try plugging your headset directly into the controller to see if you can hear the audio and chat. If that doesn't work, as a test, may I suggest using the USB cable and connect the controller to your Xbox. If you still cannot
hear anything then I recommend following up with "Update your Xbox One Controller" .
