Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 disconnects after 7 seconds

The wireless adapter has a limited range. If you are using a desktop computer use the USB extender to get the wireless adapter as close to your controller as possible.

Same issue here, i bought a bundle controller + dongle wifi on amazon.it 2 month ago. This was in replacement of an x360 dongle wifi and on W7.

I had the same issue and though this was due to windows 7 or my older drivers. I left the stuff aside and received this week a new laptop on w10. Tried to make it works but ... nope.

Help ?

The disconnects occur even when I am less than 2 feet from the receiver

There are two different Xbox One wireless adapters.
The older, bigger one is able to support Windows 7, 8, and 10.
The newer, smaller one only supports Windows 10.

Does all xbox one controller have an usb C port to be connected or some are wireless only ? (Sorry about all these questions but never had an xbox one controller between my hand)

That's where I heard about the "old adaptator"

This is line 1, 2 and 3 of the table :

So seems like there is 2 wireless adaptator and one of them seems to work on windows 7 but they don't precise if it's for xbow one or 360...sigh now you understand why i'm so lost, 3 versions of the controller, 2 different adaptator, many software update...I
know the best is to switch to W10 but I never had a single problem on w7 and would like to keep it as long as possible.
