Yeah I had no idea you coudl access the drivers directly online...

Really frustrating, the adapter works fine on my gmaing PC, but wont work on my gaming laptop (which is what I have with me 95% of the time).

Ill check out the link and update once Ive manually installed the drivers...

I dont know what can be causing this, my laptop has like 5 USB ports and none of them work.

It would really help if I could see the version of the OS on your laptop, quickest thing is to post the output of running "winver" from Start->Run

@ Ragnarok please dont tell me you sent me to go check microsoft's downloads without checking they actually had the drivers first....

That or im blind and I cant find them. The most recent download under "xbox and games" is from 2013.

- There was 3 versions of the controller right ? Does they all work on w7 (x64) ?

They will all work, but only with a wired connection. Bluetooth is not supported for Windows 7 nor is the Wireless adapter for the Xbox One controller unfortunately.

- Can we play wireless on w7 or it just works with the wire ? Heard that you could play wireless with the
OLD microsoft wireless adaptator (the usb key for xbox controller) but not the new adaptator wich is specific to windows 10.

See previous answer. As for an older Adapter, I'm not aware of such a device. I'm pretty sure all adapters only support Windows 10.

- Would like to buy the RED xbox one controller, does it have a software difference with classic xbox one controller and for some reasons it only work on w10 or it's just a color change ?

All Xbox One controllers will work with Windows 10, but only via a wired connection.

Microsoft does not guarantee any 3rd party wireless adapter will work on their Xbox products. The only way to be sure is to purchase an official Xbox 360 wireless adapter.

Are you using wireless of wired connection? If you're using wireless with the the old version of the xbox 360(the one that doesn't come with a built in wireless adapter) try unplugging the adapter, turning off the xbox, plugging the adapter back in, then
turning on the xbox. If that does not work try connecting your sons xbox directly to the modem using an ethernet cable and see if you can connect.
