xbox one wireless adapter DOES NOT EVEN WORK. AT ALL.

I see a lot of people complaining about the fact that they don't get audio... or vibrations... well TOUGH LUCK! I GET NOTHING AT ALL! BECAUSE THE DAM THING WONT WORK ON MY PC!

Works perfectly fine on my friend's PC with same controller but no matter what I do, the flashing light wont well, flash, on mine!

I have uninstalled the drivers 5 times and have restarted my PC and checked for updates 10 times and STILL NOTHING!

I honestly couldnt care less about having audio through the controller... and I can do without vibrations... I JUST WANT IT TO WORK!

    :)

xbox one wireless adapter DOES NOT EVEN WORK. AT ALL.

First check device manager, (Win+X->Device Manager) if you actually see under Network Adapters something like "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows". If you see "XBOX ACC" then right click, "Update Driver Software"->"Search automatically for updated driver
    software".

Next make sure there are charged batteries in the controller

For pairing your controller to the adapter, either

    * Connect the usb controller through a USB cord (you can use one used for phones, one end micro USB, the other USB), wait for a little while, the driver will automatically pair the wired controller to the adapter, unplug and it should flash and find the
    adapter (light would turn solid)

    * OR, press the pairing/enroll button on the adapter, then press the pairing/enroll button on your controller, light on the controller should flash and then turn solid once paired.

Under device manager, in the network adapter section (because thats where it is) I see "xbox wireless adapter for windows".

I have tried pairing a controller via cable *and* via wireless, nothing happens no matter what I do.

The controller remains unpaired and the light that is supposed to appear on the adapter does not.

xbox one wireless adapter DOES NOT EVEN WORK. AT ALL.

Try updating that driver in the network adapter section, manually

"You must update the drivers (under Device Manager on Control Panel):

Click "Network Adapter" to expand the menu and right-click "Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows" > Update Driver Software > Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software

Make sure that "USB Audio Device" is selected for playback devices under sound settings. Next to the date & time in the windows task bar (bottom right corner of your screen) you will see a speaker icon, right-click and selected "Playback Devices", then
select Headphones (aka USB Audio Device). Hit ok"

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it if you already haven't.

Prior to my first post, I did read it (hence my reply). I don't suppose you haven't tried uninstalling it and
    manually reinstalling the latest driver?...

    catalog.update.microsoft.com > version 20.24.34.491 ?...

    catalog.update.microsoft.com > version 20.24.34.491 ?...

...downloading that driver > extract contents to a folder >navigating to Control Panel > Device Manager > then uninstalling the associated driver "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows" > Unplug Adapter > Restart > Log in > Reinsert adapter > wait until its
completed > navigate to "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows" > right click > Properties > Driver tab > Update Driver > Browse my computer for driver software > select extracted driver folder > Next > Done >Restart for good measure.

Hopefully that should help you, it's helped others with similar issues.

Version numbers don't usually lie. If the version number checks out with the catalog website then you have the latest driver.

When you say it works on your friends machine, could you elaborate? Do you mean to say the same Wireless Adapter works on your friends machine and you can bind your controller wireless to it? Is your machine a Windows 10 machine? What version does it have?
What version does your friends machine have?

Please note that the wireless adapter is not yet supported on any downlevel OS from Windows 10.
