Xbox One Wired Controller Issue

Well before i go on and try what you recommend, the controller i have while being a PDP brand controller, specifically it's a Vault Boy Wired Xbox One Controller, so getting a replacement for the controller will be very difficult or impossible. The controller
itself is numbered out of a limited quantity. I was lucky enough to even get one to begin with.

I will try what you have recommended but here is what i just did before checking for a reply from you:

1. Went into Device Manager while the controller was plugged in and Uninstalled the driver and also ticked the box "Uninstall the Device Software (As in the Driver i'm assuming), restarting my PC to completely remove the driver.

2. After having it uninstall, and restarting my PC i went into the actual driver installation and clicked "Remove" (Because Install was greyed out) what i figured the driver must have some lingering files and while it did not prompt me to restart anything,
again i did. In this step i did not have the control plugged in as to give the attempt of completely removing the driver from my PC.

3. Once after restarting my PC for the second time, i reopened the driver installation and installed it, without having my controller plugged in yet. The installation hung for a moment and then after a Administrator approval, it installed.

4. I opened the Device Manager window and plugged the controller in, i saw the controller go from "Vault Boy Official Wired Xbox One Controller" to "Microsoft Gaming Device", the controller never lit up or vibrated whatsoever. Which is my primary reason
for knowing the controller is not responding to the driver. I have used this controller on an Xbox One belonging to a neighbor and it worked fine, lit up and vibrates correctly there.

Another thing to note that in it's properties i am allowed to see the mapping and reaction from all buttons and axis and when i move them around there is no response. One time i was able to barrow a controller from the neighbor and this controller worked
just fine, it opened Steam's big picture mode and worked in games as expected.

If it is not too much to ask for i'm willing to send you a PM or my Steam name and hopefully we can collaborate to get this controller working. Again i really appreciate the effort you're doing here. I'm sure there has to be a way.

Can't get my Vault Boy Official Wired Xbox One Controller to work (on my PC using Windows 8). I've tried everything suggested by microsoft experts and everyone else. Nothing works.

Yeah I'm having issues with my Xbox one controller after updating it. No issues with my PDP controller and that thing is wired.

The Device association service, Device Install Service, Device Setup Manager services do not exist in Windows 7. Because of this i am only able to get the same Service Window with not much to Start, herein i tried to find the Xbox Gaming Device which the
driver defaults to after deleting, restarting and allowing it to install again. I'm sure this would work on Windows 8 because these features are new for this OS, but they do not exist in 7. PDP also has yet to review my ticket, which was sent out this morning.

I have submitted a ticket to PDP now and hope they'll be able to get me in the right direction, if it helps in specific the controller is Vault Boy Wired Xbox One Controller. Still on my own attempts of trying to install, delete, restart and so forth i haven't
had any success. I'm surprised the driver itself is removed from the download page for the Xbox One Controller to PC, but though i've found the driver already, and have tried a Microsoft controller, it's just a bit upsetting to not be able to get a specific
controller to work. Have you had any luck yourself with a Wired PDP Xbox One Controller?

I went and exchanged my blue one for a different controller, same brand, same Rock Candy model series, and after uninstalling the official Microsoft Xbox One Drivers and reinstalling them somehow my new controller is working.

This is the only difference that I have done besides swapping out the controller.

1. Uninstalled all XBOX One controller drivers through the device manager, had new controller plugged in.

2. Install new Hardware could not install Rock Candy Controller for Xbox One drivers occurred after I unplugged and reinserted it in USB port.

3. Randomly decided to have controller plugged in when I reinstalled the x64 drivers, and the light in the controller above the Xbox button lit up and it vibrated halfway through the install process that seemed to be hanging.

I really would suggest seeing if you could get a different controller and try these steps. If that fails, I might find a way to help you with PDP or over the net.

Third party controllers are supported via compatible ID (even if the HW ID doesn't match the compatible ID will). IF you had already installed the drivers for your old controller, then the new controller will work with the old driver because of the compatible
ID match (it will show up as Xbox Gaming Device instead of Controller). However if you've recently reinstalled the OS or uninstalled the drivers then it may not.

Please use the official drivers from here: catalog.update.microsoft.com/.../Search.aspx. Open in IE, and make sure to choose the driver matching your chipset, x86 for 32bit, amd64 for 64)

If even then the driver does not automatically load on plugging the device, you can manually force the driver to load, by going to device manager, finding the controller node that is errored->Right Click->Update Driver->Browse local machine for driver. Then
choose the correct one.
