Xbox One - Wired connection help

Just booted up my Xbox this afternoon and noticed I was not connected to Live. I've been connected directly through ethernet for the entire time I've had this Xbox and I've never had an issue with this before. I've checked the connection, made sure nothing
is loose, etc. Other devices work just fine, but when I log into the network settings in the Xbox,it says it is not connected and that I need to "Plug in an Ethernet Cable, or set up a wireless Network." I've set up the wireless network and it logs me in just
fine, but I really prefer being online through wired connection for speed reasons. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Please help!

wifi issues

So recently my xbox one has not been able to connect to my wifi network. It has before in the past and one day up and stopped working. I've called xbox customer support and went through troubleshoot steps with them but so far they have not helped. The wifi network shows up but whenever i try to test the network connection i get an error message that says 'cannot get an IP address'. I tried a wired connection and that works but i am not able to keep it wired all the time. If anyone might have a solution please help!

 

My wireless router won't connect.

My Xbox One won't connect to my wireless router. It says that it has a wired connection, but I've never had a wired connection in the past, nor do I have one now? Can someone please help me?

 

cable or port could be bad I guess , do you have another cable you could use to check ? And as always , hard reset the router AND the xbox one...

 

I hard reset the Router and the Xbox and that seemed to do the trick. I'm not exactly sure what caused it, or which was the problem(router, or xbox). But the hard reset seemed to fix it. Thanks for the reply!

 

That is great, Thanks for posting back with the results. Many times power cycling the hardware will resolve issues. That is the reason it is suggested so much in the forums.
