Xbox One Windows 10 Wireless Adapter Issues

I have bought the new adapter to use my Xbox One controller wirelessly, and the controllers do not vibrate.

There is no program installed to change settings (like the one that would have been used or the 360 controller, or even the one for the new xbox one system firmware).

Basically, why do the controllers not vibrate, and who can fix the driver?

    :)

Xbox One Windows 10 Wireless Adapter Issues [IMG]

In June, we announced the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows as part of our commitment for designing Xbox accessories to support both Xbox and Windows. Today, we’re excited to share that we’ve started to ship to retailers in most markets around the world, including the U.S.

With the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, you’ll simply plug the Adapter into the USB 2.0 or 3.0 port of your Windows 10 PC laptop or tablet and bind the Adapter to your Wireless Controller to enable the same gaming experience you’re used to on Xbox One, including in-game chat and high-quality stereo audio. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows accommodates up to eight controllers per unit, and up to four chat headsets or two stereo headsets.

If you haven’t had a chance to try game streaming just yet, check out these step-by-step instructions. And be sure to try some of this year’s blockbuster games with built-in controller support including Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, andFable Legends.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows will be available for $24.99 USD (MSRP) or bundled with an Xbox One Wireless Controller for $79.95 USD (MSRP).

Xbox One Windows 10 Wireless Adapter Issues

I have bought the new xbox one wireless adapter for windows, and I have to report an issue.

I have been on the phone for 62 minutes to resolve the fact that the xbox one controllers using the wireless adapter do not vibrate. (The controller did vibrate once, and only once, for a second. It has now stopped altogether)

I have tested the controller using the wired connection and it is working as intended.

This is a blatant issue that needs to be resolved on the software side. The software that windows installed to run the adapter is not passing the vibration through and should be updated. The xbox 360 wireless receiver worked with vibration and now the xbox
    one wireless receiver doesn't.

I also see no controller settings or a program to modify them (I assume that the xbox one controller settings feature to be released soon will also be given out to windows)

Why do I not get Vibration, and can it get fixed?

Same here. Apparently there is supposed to be an "Xbox Accessories" app that installs automatically with the drivers, to allow firmware updates, which might resolve these issues. But the app isn't installing, and I can't find it in the app store.

I can't find that app either! Though it seems some people on the internet already have it in use!

Ok cool, so there is potenitially an app to customize the controller settings.

This still doesn't explain why the controller won't vibrate when used wirelessly. I know for certain the xbox 360 receiver works perfectly, and that a wired xbox one controller does too. So does it not make sense that we have a real issue with vibration
    on a wireless xbone controller?

Can somebody else have the issue I have? Can anybody else confirm a broken vibration feature?

EVERYONE has this issue right now. NOONE is getting vibrations and/or audio with the wireless dongle. We don't know for sure if someone is working on that issue and if/when there'll be an update.

It could very well get fixed when the Elite controller launches on the 27th.

So if everyone has this problem, can they post it here please?

OR as the microsoft rep that I spoke to for an hour said, "Call xbox every day, as many times that you can to complain, so that we can keep reporting it"

Until we get word that there is a fix, I assume that xbox doesn't care, and that bugs me.

Is it reasonable for everyone having this issue to comment and call xbox? (if only to make it known that we want the functionality)

Did anyone ever hear of someone that got the audio to work?

I can't even find an audio output I could use for this....when using the wired controller it always gave me a new USB audio output device.

I assume folks here have seen the other threads regarding updating the driver from Windows update that now has updated drivers? Please make sure to reply back if it resolves your problems so that others can verify as well.

Xbox One Windows 10 Wireless Adapter Issues

So, I downloaded and updated. Stupid dongle still doesn't work most of the time. Even when I finally get it paired up, shutting down the computer or even just putting it to sleep starts the nightmare all over again. Worst piece of crap yet, and that is
saying a lot! They are literally inches apart and won't pair. Yes, the battery pack is charged, even tried it with brand new AA's. Save your money and don't buy this crap, just use a cord.

To the OPs problem for no sound and no vibration that should be fixed with the latest driver updates.

For pairing, how are you pairing the controller? I have mentioned this on other posts, one easy alternate way to pair is to have your controller connected wired to the PC, plug in the Wireless Adapter to the PC as well, wait like 5 seconds, and unplug the
controller, the driver stack will automatically have paired the controller to the adapter, just like on the Xbox.

Once you pair the controller successfully and never use that controller for any other PC or Xbox, then the address of the adapter is saved in the controller. Repairing to the same adapter is not required. If it is not connecting, plug/unplug the adapter
    instead to reset the adapter.

We are working with our partners to address some of the major issues.

  15. My standard Xbox One controller will not vibrate anymore via the wireless adapter, it worked perfectly until a few days ago.. I have tried older drivers for the controller without any luck, didn't find out how i manually installed older drivers for the adapter
though.. The vibration works via cable, so yeah.. Really annoying..

    Hey ,

Thank you for letting us know that as well. Can you let us know if you are using Windows 10 and a Windows 10 wireless adapter as well?

    Thank you!

Yes, I am on windows 10 and using the original model of the Xbox One Windows 10 wireless adapter (the fat one).

Thank you for confirming that for us. Just to check, have you been able to work through all the steps for the

Yes, I have done all these steps with the wireless adapter as well, save for swapping it out for another one, which I don't have.

Can the X Box One Wireless Controller with Bluetooth also be used with the X Box One Wireless Adapter for Windows 10?

    Hi Beau,

Thank you for coming to the Xbox forums, I'd be happy to answer that.

The Xbox One Wireless controller with Bluetooth can be connected to a Windows 10 PC with a USB cable, Bluetooth, or with the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10, so yes, it can be connected via the adapter. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 is not
compatible with an Xbox 360 controller and will need the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. I'll provide the support articles with this information:

    I hope this helps!
