Xbox One Windows 10 Streaming Issues

For a couple weeks now I've been using the Xbox App for Windows 10 on my Dell Venue 11 Pro tablet to stream games from my Xbox One. For the most part its worked quite well with only a few lag issues here and there but now it no longer allows me to connect
to my Xbox. When the issue first started it said my console was turned off but it was one. I tired rebooting both several times and checked for updates for either one but neither worked. I then tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox app on my tablet
but now it no longer recognizes the console at all. My Xbox one is plugged into my wireless router while my tablet just uses the WiFi, any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey there Starkiller2088,

Are you able to connect to your Xbox One console through the Xbox App if you manually input the console's IP Address? Have you tried putting the console on WiFi as well to see if that makes a difference?

I did try manually inputting the IP address for the console but it still was unable to connect. After changing the network to the wireless and rebooting both my tablet and computer again the Xbox finally reappeared on the app and I was able to stream again.

Are you trying to stream a game from Xbox 360 to Windows 10? That's not supported - the media center of old was for streaming videos and songs.

There is a way to stream Xbox 360 games to Windows 10, but it involved using an Xbox One and playing the backwards compatible Xbox 360 on the Xbox 360, then streaming the Xbox One to Windows 10.

The Xbox One streams wirelessly to a pc that has windows 10 and the Xbox app installed on it.

It does not matter that a TV is connected to the Xbox One. The console does need to be powered on to stream.

Update your Xbox application

Check the Xbox One signal strength
