Xbox one will sign me in, but cannot access the home screen or guide

Unfortunately, it sounds like the update did not fully complete.

update guide to try that once more or attempt an offline updated for the console.

All connections are fine to my Xbox as the loading screen comes on for a few minutes then goes away, sometimes after about 15 minutes of the black screen it shows my wall paper and a few apps/games but I cannot access them or go to my games and apps, my Xbox is extremely slow otherwise and I can’t even access the guide. After 5 minutes of being on the Home Screen it goes off by itself, making me repeat the whole process all over again.

Gameshare:

• Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
  
• Scroll left to the 'Sign In' tab.
• Select the 'Add new' option.
• Either get your friend's Microsoft account email address or phone number plus password they use to sign in, or let them sign in on your Xbox One.
• Review the privacy statement summary, and then select 'Next'.
• Set your preferences.
• Press the Xbox button on the controller to open the guide, and then choose 'Home' to return to the Home screen.
• Scroll left from Home, find and select your friend's gamertag, and then select 'Sign in'.

Now your friend's Xbox profile is on your Xbox One, but there's one more set of steps to follow before you have successfully got their games.

• While signed in with your friend's Xbox account...
• Press the Xbox button on the controller to open the guide.
• Select System > Settings > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox (settings can be found in Apps if you're struggling to find it).
• Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox.

Once this has been done by one party, the other person should do the same for the other account. At the end of the process your Xbox One will be set up with your friend's account using your Xbox One as its home Xbox, and your account
will be using your friend's Xbox One as its home Xbox. Now you can sign in with your own account and still have access to your friends games.

Exact same thing is suddenly happening to me. The sound of the guide loading is played, the screen dims, but the guide is not visible. It’s almost like it is appearing behind the dashboard. It’s also making it not possible to sign out or to access settings.

What do we need to do to resolve this?

Hello, exact same problem here, just started yesterday.

No amount of restarting/replugging is helping. Changing monitors/cables doesn't show any improvement either.

I cannot access the guide, But if I hold the power button on my controller it gives me the power down / restart options. This is the only thing that will show up on my screen. Game invites will pop up on my screen and I can accept those.

I was even able to start a game on the console by launching it from my phone app, But I cannot accept party invites or access the home/guide other than power options currently.
