    Xbox One will randomly crash or turn off during a game.


    Okay, so almost a year ago I made a similar post but got no response so i'm here again because it has gotten worse. As the title says, my Xbox one crashes while I play. A year ago it wouod only happen when I played Watchdogs 2 or Deadrising 4 but now it
    always happens. For example, when I play Fifa 17 it does not always happen but it still does as in every other game. In the middle of a game session the game will just crash and I have to quit the game and start again. I know it's not a game problem because
    it has happened in every game I have at least once. Another example is when I play Watchdogs 2 or Fortnite. I tried playing Watchdogs again arround two weeks ago. Five minutes after I started the game it just crashed and my Xbox turned off. The same thing
    wiith Fortnite. Another thing that just recently happened to me was that like ten minutes before I wrote this post I was checking the Black Friday deals in the Xbox Store. The problem was that just after I quit the store the Xbox turned off. That's the reason
    why I decided I had to post this again. I know it's certainly not a game thing and I don't think it has anything to do with the external hard drive either (I used to think that at the beginning). If anyone could help or suggest something I would really appreciate
    it.

    Xbox One S Crashing

    My xbox one s seems to crash randomly whenever i go to close a game down or turn off the system or start up a game. The system will crash and the xbox will reboot. It happens pretty frequently and randomly. Has anyone else had that happen as well. I
    got this system on release aug 23rd.

    Hey there AliceLobo!

    The other thread that you had posted on was pretty old so I thought it would be best to create a new one.

    I was gonna ask, when you say it kicks you, do you mean that it disconnects you from live, crashes to the home screen or turns off the console completely?

    If it disconnects you from live, I would try the steps on our support site entitled "My Xbox One is getting randomly disconnected from Xbox
    Live    " and see if that clears up the issue.

    If it crashes whileyou're playing back to the home screen, then try the steps here “My Xbox One game won’t start or freezes during gameplay”.

    If the console turns off completely while you're navigating around the console, Troubleshoot Xbox One unexpectedly turning off.

    Depending on what's going on, try those steps I suggested please, and let us know how that helps in resolution of your issue.

    Series X turning off appear to be related to next-gen games like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
    Not necessarily fifa 21 xbox one version crashes and turns mine off so does fortnite

    The Xbox turning off by itself certainly isn't normal behavior. Do you or anyone you live with use Smart-Glass? I've seen where this type of issue with the console just shutting down has been due to one roommate having a good laugh at the expense of
    someone's game time. Also, you said that this does happen with other games, but then said that it does not. It would really help to see if this is isolated to this one game. Also I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the game. To do this, press your
    menu button from the COD 3 tile, and then selecting manage game. From there you can uninstall it. After it's uninstalled go ahead and reinstall the game to see if the same issues pop up.
