Xbox one will not update.

I am beyond frustrated and unsure what to do. This will be a long post, so bear with me. My xbox one, about a week ago, was having issues connecting to xbox live. I was connected to the internet, but not xbox live (this is after 2 years of the same location,
same internet, same everything having worked). I looked online, and peole suggested deleting and re-adding your xbox account, so I did that. When I tried to re-add the profiles, I needed to be connected to do so, so that become impossible. Next, I was told
maybe a reset of the xbox would help. I did that, but now when the xbox tries to update "checking for updates", it fails for an unknown reason "you need this update..." is the message I get. Then, I was told to try it in offline mode. I follow all the steps,
go through the update, complete the update offline, but then as soon as it finishes the offline update using a USB, I am immediately made to check for updates again, and unsurprisingly it fails once again. Finally, I am told that my xbox one is most likely
broken, so I bought a new xbox one. It arrived today, I plugged it in, go through the initial set up steps, when I get to checking for updates? You guessed, it fails again for an unknown reason. I am extremely frustrated, and have seemingly just bought a brand
new xbox one thinking this would solve the issue, when it clearly has not.
