Xbox one will not update and has locked me out of xbox live

Same issue with mine. I did the hard restart of the system like 5 times. Then followed the online guide to Offline System Update, still nothing. Now they are telling me I have to send in my console and pay $115 to have them fix something that was never
broken until they sent this update. I'm beyond ****. Might switch to PS4 lol

Console works fine now... Solution for me was to remove the consoles power chord and then replug it in. Then, hold the bind button (left of console) and the disc eject button simultaneously, then turn the console on. Keep holding until the power on sounds
twice, and then let go. A troubleshooting menu should load up and then I selected factory reset (keeping my games tho ofc). After following some steps, uncheck the "keep console updated" or something like that. Hopefully youll then be able to play. (Apparently
installing the update offline was supposed to work using a USB, but it wasnt working for me).

I downloaded the OSU2 file from Xbox onto a flash drive. Unplugged the power cord, put the flash drive in and held the bind and eject buttons, then turned the xbox on again, didn't work like the website said. Then I restarted my console with the flash
drive still in, update is working now. Might be the trick to getting this to update. Still, why do they send out updates that 1, don't need to be sent and 2, just screw up our systems??
