Xbox One will not turn on after latest update

Recently there was an update on my Xbox One. I was able to play for a few hours after that update but then the unit shut off by itself and will not turn back on via front button on the console or by holding start up button on the controller. If I press
the power button on the unit I hear a very faint start up sound but then it will not start. I don't believe it is a heat issue since it has always been in a very well ventilated area and will not power on from a cold start. I have tried leaving the unit
unplugged for several hours (articles I found said it should reset after 10 seconds so made sure it was well beyond that time frame). I did try other outlets, it turned on once very briefly after I left it for a few days but would not start again from the
same outlet. I was planning on getting one of the next gen consoles but this is sort of a bad experience. Although it is possible that it is a hardware problem, keep in mind that it happened the same day as the update which is a pretty big coincidence given
that the unit had run flawlessly up until then. Since I can't turn the unit on I can't confirm what the update version was, I just saw it briefly flash on the screen that an update had been applied. I had planned on getting a next gen console but I am not
sure it would be another Xbox since they have a history of similar issues (eg red ring of death) and as much as I want to support them I do have an expectation that a console should not generally just flat out die for no reason. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem. After recent update Xbox one won’t turn on. Tried everything to no avail.

Ikr its beyond me how there’s no support at all other than stupid bot saying to check power supply. Im paying for gold membership, games and this thing simply not working for a 4 days now and Microsoft dgaff about it. Im seriously thinking moving on to
PS now.

Same for me too, im so beyond pissed and we cant even capl the support team. Like what am i supposed to do now if none of those steps work at all

Thanks for the reply, as I mentioned those steps have already been tried unsuccessfully, and the page says the unit is out of warranty. I would normally chalk it up to to bad luck on my part, but the failure happened directly after the update. If the update
killed the unit, then I should be able to get it fixed. Even if it was a hardware failure (which, again, would be very coincidental), there should be an option to repair it even if it is paid. This is the message I get if I try to get service for the unit:

We're sorry but the coverage on this console has expired.

Again, since the issue happened directly after the update, it seems like something Microsoft should assist with.
