    Xbox One will not stay synced with controllers


    Ever since I bought my Xbox One In June of 2015, it has had controller connectivity issues. At first I thought it was the controller that came with the system (the old style of controller that came with a 500 GB Master Chief Collection Bundle), so I went
    out and bought a new controller with the 3.5 mm jack on it. That same day, the issues happened with the new controller.

    The system "forgets" my controller while it is off and then the controller can't start the system. Even if that doesn't happen, the controller will come disconnected during the game. Batman, Halo MCC, Halo 5, Rare Replay... it doesn't matter.

    I have tried every step in this link multiple times: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/wireless-controller-disconnects. I am
    now on my second replacement Xbox One and the issue persists. In addition to the steps in the link above, I have switched routers, router distance form the system, and have changed my internet connection to the system from wireless to wired. I even moved
    from an apartment into a house one city over! I can only conclude that nothing external is interfering with my controllers and that it must be the system's WiFi Direct board.

    What more can I do? I've sent in my system twice and the problem isn't fixed. Why isn't Microsoft being more proactive in fixing this issue, especially when it seems like many others are experiencing it?

    The below is from the "Misses Joust" thread where she specified including this information in new posts.

    • What exactly is happening with your controller? Disconnecting, won't connect, shutting down? Tell us what's going on and how frequently.
    • Does it happen during a specific activity? If the issue only crops up while playing a certain game or app, include that in your post.
    • Does it happen with multiple controllers? If you have a second controller or if you can borrow one, try it on your console and see if it behaves the same way.
    • What have you tried so far? Please be specific and list the steps you've done. Saying "everything" may result in us asking you to repeat stuff you've already tried.

    controller won't sync with console (already tried new batteries) all lights flashing

    these are Microsoft controllers and I have been through the sync process with them and they will occasionally sync for a minute or two but not stay synced.

    Xbox One won't stay synced with controllers.

    So....what do I do? I either want a working Xbox One or I'm selling it for a PS4. I'm not going to buy games for a system that doesn't work.

    Controller works when no batteries in but when connected wirelessly gives up?

    Basically, I'll turn on the Xbox, the controller will work for a few moments, then the console stays on, and the controller just dies this works on any of my controllers. If i remove the batteries of the controller and plug it in via a micro usb cable then
    fully turn off the console then turn it back on, the controller will stay synced and working. If i put the batteries in and use wireless it will work for a few minutes then the controller stays on, fully synced but the controller doesn't work...

    The batteries are 4 different sets, 2 cheap ones, 1 Duracell and 1 set of rechargeable ones that work perfectly on my pc.

    All 3 normal batteries are brand new, but this is the same on both controllers.

    The wireless keeps disconnecting me now as well.

    If connected to the wireless i can use the app to control the Xbox perfectly

    Controllers won't connect

    To sync the controllers on the Xbox One, press the bind button on the console and then within 20 seconds press the connect button on the controller until it flashes, then release and press it again until it stays solid (which may take a while).

    Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this situation. I understand you're trying to connect an Xbox One Wireless Controller to a Windows 10 PC but the sync button on the console is broken is that correct? If that's the case you can set up
    the controller with a USB cable and us it Wired. To continue wirelessly you could get an Xbox One Wireless Controller Adapter for Window 10 and then connect the controller with the USB and see if it stays synced after you unplug it. Asides from that replacing
    the controller would most likely be your best bet. You can always sync the controller to an Xbox One Console also by using a USB and then unplugging it.

    Do you have another controller to test? Or do you know anyone else with an Xbox One where you could try your controller on their console?
