    Xbox One WILL NOT read, Xbox One games. It WILL only read DVD's


    For some reason i am having quite a bit of trouble with this system. My Xbox One will ONLY read DVD discs, and WILL NOT read any Xbox One games. For the Xbox One games, it keeps on saying "Sorry, we can't play this disc. I tried 4 different Xbox One
    games and it all has the same error.

    I already sent my console in for service for this persisting problem, and after waiting 2 weeks for it to come back,it finally came in today. I was hoping that it would be fixed, but IT STILL DOES NOT WORK! You would think that they would test the disc drive
    before sending it back, but it's obvious they did not, because i'm having the same exact problem.

    Is anyone else have disc drive problems????

    Xbox One from the US (Region free? Advantages? Disadvantages?)

    The Xbox one is region free for games.

    But for DVD's and Blu-rays, it is region locked. So your Xbox from the states would only be able to play region 1 discs

    I'm terribly sorry that you received a console with the same issue. My only suggestion here is to contact phone support again. If you have a credit card you may be able to set up an advanced exchange which means that they'll send you a new console before
    you need to send them the old one.

    Game discs for the Xbox One console are
    not region locked. Each Xbox One console is manufactured for a specific region, following international standards, so the Xbox One console can only play
    Blu-ray discs and DVDs that are sold in the same region as the console unless they Blu-ray/DVD is not region coded.

    Hi,

    Sorry about your problem there. I take it that normal DVD's won't play now either? If the answer to that is yes, then I'm afraid your console's Optical drive has a fault.

    There are two lasers in the Xbox One. The red laser is for DVD's and Xbox 360 game discs (360 games are on DVD) and a Blue laser for Blu-ray discs (Xbox One games are on BD discs).

    Unfortunately Microsoft no longer repairs the original Xbox One. Only the Xbox One S and One X can still be repaired. You'll need a new console if you want to play BC games on disc.
