    xbox one will not play xbox 360 game


    Hi,

    I live in Israel and received and XBOX one as a gift from family in the USA.

    I purchased Diablo III NTSC game (new, sealed) and the xbox one won't play it.

    I just read that due to architecture changes XBOX ONE does not play XBOX 360 games.

    Right now - that is probably the worst gift I could think off (hate to say it, but its the first and last gaming console I'm using - it has been a bad experience to begin with and it just gotten worse).

    I already tried storage cleaning in the console.

    Anyway, if anyone has any idea how to solve this (if this is solvable at all) - please help.

    The Xbox One is not backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games so you can't play any 360 games on the Xbox One

    This is not something that can be solved. As you said you read, the Xbox One is not backwards compatible. There is no way to make it play 360 games.

    The problem is I learned it after I purchased the game, not before.

    This whole console has been a nightmare for me to begin with and it just proceeded forth to being worse.

    In theory you can connect a Xbox One S, Xbox One X and Xbox 360 consoles locally. However, the game you intend to play has to support local link play.

    However, for Xbox One games, I know of no game that supports local link play.

    On the Xbox 360, there are several games that allow local network play, and if the Xbox 360 game is backwards compatible, you can also play that Xbox 360 version of the game on your Xbox One.

    However, be aware that you can NOT play the Xbox One version of a game with the Xbox 360 Version of the game. So for example, you can NOT play FIFA 14 on the Xbox One together with a person playing FIFA 14 on the Xbox 360.

    You can however play Halo 3 as a backwards compatible Xbox 360 title on the Xbox One together with someone on a Xbox 360.

    An Xbox 360 game will always be an Xbox 360 game whether it is played on the Xbox 360 or an Xbox One through backward compatibility, same with original Xbox games. They were developed to play on one console. It's only through the magic of back compat they
    play on the One. They are still Xbox 360 and original Xbox games to me.

    Even though you can play Xbox 360 games on Xbox One this is and always be a no go. You can play a 360 game on Xbox one provided it is compatible with someone on 360 but you have never been able to play a Xbox One version of a game with someone who is playing
    a 360 version of the same game.

    If someone is playing MP on Xbox One they can't play MP with people on Xbox 360.

    And the Xbox One can't play Xbox 360 games.
