One x wil not do anything

so as of today, 3/16/18, my Xbox one x has completely shut down. I can get it to turn on and run, but when I play, or try to play a game it totally backfires. For example, when I get overwatch to load when I'm in a game my whole hud disappears and I end
up not being able to do anything and basically get stuck in whatever screen is loaded up at the time til I get kicked for inactivity. Or I try to load fortnite and it keeps giving me errors. I did a full reset on my console and it still hasn't fixed anything
and I have run out of ideas. If anyone has had this problem and knows what I'm talking about I could greatly use your help a second this is driving me insane.

Xbox one not opening anything to do with network.

Your having trouble signing in Studdly? To access the left menu from the Home Screen all you have to do is press the left stick to the left or press left on the D-pad. Also double tapping the Home button on your controller while on the home screen brings
up the left menu as well.

    Hey Steve -

If you haven't yet, definitely try giving your Xbox One console a >>power cycle<< to see if that helps. If that doesn't work, the next thing I'd recommend trying is
to >>factory reset<< your console while keeping your games and apps.

Give those a shot and let us know if either step helps!

    Xbox one not doing anything

    Hello CthulhuRlyeh 3D,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We recommend completing a soft factory reset. This factory reset will keep all games and applications installed on the console, but it will remove all the profiles as well. Therefore, the email address and password
of those accounts must be known before this step is taken. Normally, you would initiate the factory reset through the settings. Since you are unable to access the settings, you will need to complete the soft factory reset through the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.
We will provide instructions on how to access this section of the console. Be sure to let us know the results!

How to access the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter:

    1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    2. Wait 30 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.
    3. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the
EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the
      Xbox button on the console.
Note The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition does not have an
      EJECT
button. You can bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter on this console by holding only the
BIND button (steps 3 & 4) and then pressing the Xbox button
      .
    4. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    5. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
    6. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

Ok so i sent my brother to do this, but he hit the factory reset that keeps saved data and games. But. This time it went through! I guess it must be a thing you gotta repeat till it works. Definitely need a new xbox anyway but this gives me time at least.
Thank you everyone! Ill keep this up for others to see

Xbox one refusing to do anything

    Hi Joe_664,

Thanks for the reply letting us know that you have and original Xbox One console and a bit more detail about what is happening. You may wish to double check the power supply's performance using the

    Xbox One Power Supply Solution
to eliminate it as a possibility of being at the root of the issue.

If you determine via the wizard that the power supply brick is fine, then I would further recommend that attempt to perform a soft factory reset and an offline system update (OSU) as my fellow XBF did previously. The OSU will ensure that the update goes
through and by performing the reset first, you eliminate possibly corrupt files on the operating system to enable the update to go through smoothly as well. You may also take a look at your storage space to be sure that there is enough space in there for the
    update too as a precaution.

You'll need access to a PC, a flashdrive with a minimum of 6Gb available (if you've got files on there, you'll want to move them off first) that you can reformat to NTSF and the OSU file downloaded and extracted (hence the PC). Here are the links for the
reformatting steps and a link to the applicable article detailing how to go about the process:

How to format a flash drive to NTFS on Windows

    Xbox One System Update Solution

I know this seems like a lot; however, I've done this myself with my own console and its worth a try. Give it a go and let us know how everything turns out.

I hope that this helps you out a bit more!
