Xbox One will not connect to Wifi

Hi.....

My Xbox one will not connect to my wifi and keeps saying either "xbox one cannot connect. check your network name and password and try again" or it can't connect to the DHCP server. It was working this morning and I am 100% sure I have the right password.

I've tried going through the trouble shooting steps on both the website and on the Xbox. I've removed my wifi password (and put it back). I've just done a factory re-set on the Xbox but to no avail.... Now it just comes up with "Cannot connect to your wireless
network"... I can't have a wired connection because the router is downstairs (this has not been an issue for the last 6 months).

I have a BT Home Hub 3, but it is clearly working as I can connect to it on other devices without an issue.

Any ideas?

no wifi connection when 4k is use

my xbox one s, can't connect to my wifi when the output video is 4k. when i choose 1080p i can connect my wifi. i've restore the xbox, and it not resolve my problem.

 

Xbox360 Slim wireless problems

Same problem here. My new xbox 360s connects to my network via internal wifi but it will not connect to xbox live. Everything else in the house connects fine. My xbox even connects when I plug in the old Adapter( from my last xbox) meaning the issue is with
the internal wifi. This is one reason I bought a new xbox slim(internal wifi) this is BS!

 

I have a similar problem. I was watching YouTube this morning and then it stopped the video. When I checked the network connection it was unable to connect to wifi. A couple of restarts of router and xbox later it appeared to connect ok but then stopped
again within a few seconds and was back to not being able to connect to my wifi network. Fortunately I am able to use a wired connection and it is working fine on that. I appreciate this is not much help to you but at least you know you're not the only one.
I have a BT Homehub. Just wondering if that is the cause.

 

I'm having the same issue. Even changed my router password to make sure I wasn't going insane. Even said that was wrong. I am using a Netgear router but I am with BT...

 

UPDATE: Sorted... kind of.... Unplugged my USB hard drive and it connected straight away. Weirdo and hopefully a fix is on the way.

Same problem here.

It was fine yesterday, woke up this morning and all day today ive tried every solution under the sun, but still nothing.

I know I have the right password, but Xbox keeps telling me it's wrong.

I'm a preview member if that helps.

 

Seems to be the preview update that's messing everyone's xboxs up, some people have said they can connect if you use a wired connection though if you want to try that. I havent been able to get on all day and haven't heard anything from xbox "support" on
how to fix it.

 

i have the same problem here was working fine this morning. I am with bt and have the home hub 5 i have tried manually setting the ip and dns settings. reseting the hub to factory settings but nothing seems to work. i also have the preview dashboard

 

Thought I was going mad too.

I have spent the day trying to get my XBOX ONE back online....

I never thought of disconnecting the external HDD ( I removed kinect too) and it reconnected to the wifi.

The solution makes no sense, I don't know why the external HDD is an issue.

 

Also happening to me, you're not alone. Are Microsoft aware of this issue?

 

I had the same problem now for 3 hours, my solution was removing the kinect, this is a joke the guy from xbox support told me some random stuff tht didnt work, they need to fix this quick (im a preview member aswell)

 

Thanks all.... I'm also a preview member, but if this was the cause, I would expect restoring the xbox to factory settings to work... But it doesn't.

 

Just disconnected my Kinect... that worked.... weird
