    Xbox one will not connect to tv due to resolution


    We plugged in xbox one to tv but will not work and says resolution needs to be changed before picture will show on tv. We do not have the monitor with us that is normally used with xbox. Does anyone know a way around this so we can get it to work please?

    Have tried to use a laptop as a screen aswell but that doesn't work, I think because the hdmi does output not input.

    Grateful for any advice, thanks.

    You can also plug the xbox into the tv that works and set the resolution to 480i. This is the lowest HDMI setting, from there on you can connect the xbox to the tv you are having trouble with and up the resolution one step at a time to see what you maximum
    resolution on that tv is.

    As long as your TV supports HDMI connections with a minimum resolution of 720p, you'll be fine. If it does not, you will have a problem, as Xbox One consoles (first-gen, Xbox One S and Xbox One X) all require HDMI connections and that minimum resolution.

    I have had the a sort-of same issue. I had my Xbox Connected to my TV and resolution 1080p, then i went to my friends house and hooked the Xbox to his TV and no Video came to the TV... As my friends TV didn't support 1080p, needed to connect it to a TV
    that supported 1080p and then i changed the Resolution to the lowest, and the connected back to the friends tv and then it worked.
