    Xbox one will be more worthless when xbox live is discontinued for the platform.


    Previous generations had system link, split screen, and wonderful offline features, that IMHO was the best for longevity. This generation now is no offline capabilities, no system link to work around xbox live, and no damn split screen for those long internet-less
    nights. The Xbox one will become a single player console, IF you do not need updates from the internet and just play off the CD. It will be just like the original xbox, the xbox 2001. I know now why they called it xbox one, because when xbox live is shut down
    it will be the xbox one again except even more useless and worthless. The 360 and even the original xbox was worth more than the one nowadays. Why is it every succeeding generation is more troublesome than the last. Heck consoles are going to become PCs someday
    because of the infrastructure. Consoles are meant to not have updates and be able to be played right out of the box, no install required. Microsoft has a method to their madness, they are making xbox progressively worse as well as other console manufacturers
    because they want to get people on the biggest platform around before consoles existed, Personal Computers.

    No one knows. Microsoft does not comment on unannounced products.

    Live isn't being shut down so no need to worry.

    Even if it was then the xbox one would be no different from any other console that isn't connected to an online service.

    You can use your xbox one offline just fine.The only games that wont play are the ones that require you to be online.

    That is incorrect. Skype was never offered on the Xbox 360. Only Windows Live Messenger existed in App form on that platform and that service was discontinued in 2013. Microsoft has not expressed any interest in developing a Skype App for the older Xbox
    360 platform. The only upgrade path is a supported OS.
