What in the hell is with the wifi on this machine?

I have 60mbps internet and when I check on the damn system I am running 1.8??? It has been this way since day one, it jumps from 1 to 5.

The rest of the devices run at a smooth 32 mbps.

    Please help.

    :)

  2. Are USB AC1600 2.4/5ghz wifi adapter dongles compatible with xbox one usb?

So, I've seen this question asked, and wondered, if the USB WiFi adapter dongles are compatible to boost the signal of an Xbox one.

(obviously I'm aware Xbox one has in built WiFi)

my question is, tho, would a more latest and powerfuller usb dongle boost the WiFi capability of an Xbox one? That means are the drivers in the OS updated to accommodate future and existing tech? I noticed when I plugged in an ac
WiFi adapter the Xbox WiFi up address changed to the usb WiFi adapters ip address so i gues they would be but the question is, are they?

I currently am running 58mbps (Comcast). Mine also varies between (low end of 18 and high end of 33). When I plugged in wired - the speed was a constant 45+. I run a pretty high end router through the 5g connection. So I am suspecting (on mine) there is
some sort of wireless corruption in my house. Are you wired or wireless? If wireless try running cable directly to your router and see what the speed is then.

Wireless. I would expect 30 mbps with 60.. I can not connect with a wire, router is across the hall. I just don't understand how it can jump so quickly.

Hmm not at home currently. Wonder if you can run Speedtest through IE and see what it says there? I will try it when I get home.

In the "network" you can click on detailed network statistics and it will actually run a speed test for you.

Takes 30 seconds or so. I am at 5.13 Mpbs at the moment... 76% wireless strength, 0 packet loss.

    Just really frustrating.

Does you router have any kind of QoS (Quality of Service) running? On many routers, this function throttles the speed of high-demand devices and services (like multiplayer gaming) in order to ensure other functions like web browsing or streaming video run
    more smoothly.

Jaymo, I have no idea. How would I check something like that?

If you log into your router's admin page, it should be in one of the settings menus. Usually, you can get to the admin page by opening an internet browser and typing your router's base IP address in the address bar (eg, 162.128.1.1.) To find your router's
ip, using any computer connected to that gateway, click start, and then open the "run" dialog. In Win 7, just type "run" (without quotes) in the search box when you click Start.

In this run box, type "cmd" (without quotes.) You should get a black "MS-DOS" type of window. Type "ipconfig" (again, no quotes.) The "default gateway" is the address to type in your browser.

To get specifics, www.portforward.com has a great list of logins for all routers, if you visit the Xbox One port forwarding page.

Controller Issue and Xbox One Placement

Well, the xbox one uses WiFi direct to connect while the Xbox 360 uses other technology.

In short, the design of the Xbox One and the WiFi hardware card on the console has been problematic for many as far as controller connection. My response is, do what works best and maybe consider re-arranging the room and rooms adjacent so that any WiFi
interference is eliminated entirely. Also consider plugging in the xbox one vs. using a WiFi internet connection.
