So for now it works with this wireless distributed solutions (range extender/wireless backhaul).

Does your PC (WIndows?) also peak at +95% of signal strenght?

You can try this by using 'cmd' and issue the following command:

netsh wlan show interface

What channel is your wireless route operating at?

Have you scanned for adjecent channel that might interfere (using overlapping channels), using inSSIDer.

What is your router's version of firmware?

Sorry, I meant that with the router in the next room, the signal strength is about 98% but it goes to 100% when the router is in the same room.

Right now I am using the 5ghz bandwidth, which according to inSIDDer no one is using... Plus I highly doubt I would be able to pick up the neighbors 5ghz signal, considering I can't even get my own 5ghz when I go downstairs (the router is on the second floor).
But once again, I have also tried the 2.4ghz band and selected channel 4, as it was one of the only channels with the least overlap from neighboring signals.

My router is using a custom firmware that is based off of the OEM firmware. It allows greater control and more options for fine tuning. However, before I installed that firmware I was using the OEM firmware and it was no different in regards to my troubles
with the Xbox One.

I appreciate your help and persistence in trying to solve this.

strength does your computer register on 2.4- resp 5 GHz (netsh wlan show interface)

channel 4 is an adjecent channel interference and something you would distance yourself from, or in this case, your AP.

Try to pick the least congested non-overlapping channel that you are able to detect, as follows: 1,6,11.

If you don't use any legacy devices on your WLAN, make sure to untick 'B/G Protection' under WLAN settings.

Did I hear you correct the first time, when you said that your band-aid solution/extender is working, as a solution?

My PC gets 90% on 2.4ghz, but it is an inherently bad wireless card that plagues me with trouble often, so I am not sure if that number is reliable. And it is not 5ghz capable.

Well like I said, I picked channel 4 because nearly every other wireless signal in the neighborhood were already using either 1,6,or 11. With most being on 6 or 11. Which is why I chose channel 4.

Yep, I have already turned off B/G protection.

Now with that said, it should be irrelevant, as I have kept the Xbox mostly on 5ghz. And I NEVER detect any neighboring signals on 5ghz.

Yes, the band aid solution works for now. As clunky as it is.

this case (or in any case for that matter) due to adjecent channel interference (ACI) from neighboring radios (APs) operating on channel 1 and channel 6, as these channels will overlap with your channel (channel 4) which will result in corrupted data and restransmissions
(layer 2). In other words, degradation in performance.

It is preferable to use channel 1, 6 or 11, even though it may result in something called co-channel interference, or co-channel cooperation. At least with CCI, your station are able to hear neighboring stations on the same frequency, so it knows when the medium
(air) is clear to transmit or receive. This is of importancy, as only one radio can transmit on the same channel at any given time, due to half duplex communication. At the same time, be careful when you choose your channel (1,6,11). You don't want to pick
channel 1 (for example) if a nearby neighboring AP is operating on any of the following channels: 2, 3, 4, 5, and signal strength of -70 dBm or greater (-50 dBm). Same goes for channel 6 and 11 and its neighboring channels.

Another tip is to pick the least congested channel of channel 1, 6, 11, but more important is to distance your AP from those cooperating APs (channels) with the strongest signal strength (dBm) that your AP is able to hear. In other words, choose wisely.
Yes, the band aid solution works for now. As clunky as it is.
That's good to know.

I'm having the same problem. On my Xbox One S, I teleport around the map when I play Gears of War 3. By teleporting I mean, I'll be running in a direction, and suddenly the game will re-position me either several paces ahead, or several paces back. Say for
example it want to pick up a weapon; I run to the weapon and stop to pick it up, but before I can happen, my character is like five in-game feet away from where I thought I stopped.

I tried resetting my router config and reconfiguring it with the bare minimum settings. I tried using both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band on my Xbox One to see if one worked better than the other. I have minimal channel interference and every other device in the
house works great.

When I play the game on my Xbox 360 with the official WiFi adapter, this issue isn't present, at all. In fact I just played an excellent match where I finished in second place. My shots connect more reliably and there is no teleporting to speak of.

Between input lag, and this issue, Gears of War 3 multiplayer is just not fun to play on the Xbox One. The moral of the story seems to be to keep my Xbox 360 around if I want to continue to play Gears 3. Good thing I didn't sell it like I did 99% of my other
last-gen games.

I don't know if it's the Xbox One S WiFi chip being crap, or perhaps the chip just doesn't play nice with my particular router (Netgear R7500), maybe backwards compatibility introduces some issues in terms of how the netcode operates, I have no idea. But
this problem *is* real. All I can hope is that it's isolated to Gears 3 or Xbox One backwards compatibility, because I'm going to be irked if this is a problem in Gears 4. I don't have any Xbox One games to test, so I can't even comment if it's unique to Gears
3 or backwards compatibility.

Hey Cocoa, I'm on my second Xbox One S. It's definitely a problem with either firmware or the wireless chip. Both consoles showed similar wifi stuggles. They say to take it off of instant on and choose energy saving mode. But both ways still contain the
error. The energy saving mode takes longer to connect and the instant on will sometimes not connect at all. This issue has happened the last few weeks. Some weeks before I had no wi fi issues with my system, which might be because of a bad firmware update.
It's ridiculous that this passed testing. Traded my ps4 in for this system and it's been giving me more issues than my last ps4.

Cocoa,

Glad to see I am not the only one having the issue. After returning my first Xbox One and getting a brand new one, the issue is still present. So I figure the issue lies somewhere between GOW3 + Xbox One + and Backwards Compatibility. I don't have have
any problems on other games (Gears: UE, BF1, GOW4, etc). With that said, I have given up trying to fix it as I don't think anything can be done other than to use a wired connection when playing GOW3 on the Xbox One.

What do you mean it could be an issue related to coverage of my WLAN? The router is in the room adjacent to the room with the Xbox with a 98% signal strength. But I've also tried it with the router in the same room with no improvement.

I'm using the extender currently only because it was something I already owned and had laying around the house. Which is why I'm probably not gonna purchase a power line kit. I don't feel like spending even more money to make this Xbox work correctly.

Instead of an wireless extender, have you considered a Powerline adapter?
