Xbox One WIFI disabled?

I was wondering if using a Ethernet cable disables the WIFI. My girlfriend is severely sensitive to WIFI (long story...but it is true). I don't use any in my house and would hope the Ethernet connection would disable it. Any help is appreciated.

Are USB AC1600 2.4/5ghz wifi adapter dongles compatible with xbox one usb?

So, I've seen this question asked, and wondered, if the USB WiFi adapter dongles are compatible to boost the signal of an Xbox one.

(obviously I'm aware Xbox one has in built WiFi)

my question is, tho, would a more latest and powerfuller usb dongle boost the WiFi capability of an Xbox one? That means are the drivers in the OS updated to accommodate future and existing tech? I noticed when I plugged in an ac
WiFi adapter the Xbox WiFi up address changed to the usb WiFi adapters ip address so i gues they would be but the question is, are they?

 

Using an ethernet cable does override the WiFI, I don't know if it disables it altogether though.

Pair it up with a tin foil hat and you should be sorted.

 

Thanks EvilBoris- anyone know the full answer? I'd use a tin foil hat if it worked! Might build a faraday cage around the unit if the wifi does not turn off.

 

The Wifi network adapter is disabled when having a wired connection. Nevertheless the One uses also a wifi connection to connect the controllers to it. So you wil never be able to disable all its wifi components entirely.

 

I was under the impression that if you connect the controller with USB that it disables the wireless for the controller. I read on PS4 message board that was a difference between the 2 systems.

 

When you connect the Usb it sends the game data through the cable, but who's to say that the wifi isn't still active?

Try it out and see if you girlfriend's ears start bleeding.

 

If you connect controllers to the console via USB, the wireless radios are turned off.
