Xbox one wifi connection failure

Hey Skratte, thanks for the heads up. This has been a commonly reported issue with that Technicolor device recently, and the next best step is to reach out to Time Warner Cable for further assistance with troubleshooting, and potentially requesting to replace
that device with a different model (or a stand alone router and modem).

Is your Gateway the Technicolor TC8717T ? Or perhaps the TC8715D? TWC (Time Warner Cable), recently released a new firmware that changed the wireless encryption...Now when the Xbox Is connecting and shaking hands with it it gets a really messed up instruction
and the wireless card crashes and the Xbox Follows suit. No worries it does all this to protect the console from harm and there is a fix. To be more precise there is 3 known fixes for this gate way and always the option to swap it out. Your console is not
broken. You can go wired, Change the encryption or have TWC roll back the last firmware update.

If you follow these instructions I believe your issue will be resolved. (Sorry most of this from memory and based off the TC8305C)

How to Change Wireless Security

1.Open a web browser.

2.Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. (Example
http://192.168.0.1/ )

3.The gateway will then prompt for a user name and password. The default is the user name “admin” and the password is “password”.

4.From the menu on the left select Gateway.

5.From the submenu on the left select Connection.

6.From the next submenu select WiFi.

7.Under Private WiFi Network select Edit on the Network you wan to use.

8.Select the "Show More Security Options" (allow the pop up)

9.Select WPA TKIP (about the 6th option from the bottom)

10. Press Apply. (confirm the prompt about WPS no one used that and it is kind of insecure)

11. Select Save.

Give this a go and tell me how it goes.

 

Hey guys again my Ethernet cord works but every now and then it will disconnect from the internet and I'll have to restart my xbox. It's really annoiing. And I really need my wireless connection to work again . I'm not sure if it's from Time Warner Cable
or my xbox. Let me know ASAP I'm getting really mad at Xbox with this connection crap

If you haven't already give the steps patrat46 gave a try. The wireless issue that's been described is on the side of Time Warner. If you're having trouble with your wireless router I would recommend reaching out to them for an alternate router.

I can't even connect to this modem with my xbox one. First it said I couldn't get an IP so I set up a static one, then it said DNS wasn't resolving so I port forwarded, and now it just flat-out says that I can't connect to the gateway. I've opened up any
MAC restrictions but it still is not working. TWC blows.
