Xbox one warranty

Hi there I bought a Xbox one x around the last week of November 17 , so a couple weeks after realise,,, it's in for a repair at the moment and when I checked on the status I notice that it said the warranty runs out 21 January 19 and it stated 2 year warranty
so how can this run out in January 19 when they aren't even released till November so it cant be 2 years in january ,,, can any one shed some light on this

I don't think you need a receipt although it would be wise to keep one. I had a defective X1 when they first came out, so I got a new one shipped to me and had the old one sent back. As soon as I got my new one I registered my device and I believe they can
tell on their end when the X1 serial number was bought....so it becomes effective on the date it was sold. Just FYI, on my new console I ordered the extended service plan just to ensure I was covered for a long time from any malfunctions......and after a week
I checked on here to see if my extended service plan still showed and it didnt...so after having contacting Microsoft I did need to read some information off my receipt...so its def smart to try and have one.

Warranty Information Page on our website. Personal experience says the console warranty is a year long from the date of purchase unless

Microsoft Complete was purchased for the console. Check it out and let us know if we can further assist in this or any other issues!

 

Thanks for your reply but if was only 1 year why does it state 2 on the Xbox repair page because if was one year it would be stated there surely

 

Because if you read the fine print it depends on which region

Uk and australia have 2year warranty due to laws

Everywhwre else is 1year
