    Xbox One Warranty expired after 11 months?!


    My controller has started to malfuction so i thought i would send it back to MS. It was bought with the XBox at the end of November last year. Imagine my surprise when i inputted the serial number and it came up warranty Expired.

    I thought it would be at the very least 1 year if not the EU warranty length of 2 years.

    I can't find any contact info to speak or email Microsoft about this so I am a bit stuck.

    It was bought from Tesco last year and i still have the receipt so i have proof it is less than a year since i bought it.

    Anybody point me in the right direction?

    When first purchased everyone has a limited time to purchase an extended warranty from support for the console. After that time the standard one year warranty applies to all.

    After the warranty has expired then repairs must be paid for as is standard with all products from all companies.

    just bought a brand new xbox one x and it show under warranty until 03/11/2019...? not one year???

    just bought a new Xbox one x , july 28 2018 and it show Under warranty till 03/11/2019 … mean march 11 or novemver 3 2019?

    does the Xbox one x has 1 year Under warranty?

    Hello!

    The warranty on the Xbox system and the controller often have a different warranty length. In the US the Console has a 12 month warranty, but the controller has a 90 day warranty.

    I would definitely contact support directly to get the warranty issue resolved, since it should definitely still be under warranty. They would also be able to confirm the warranty on the controller itself.

    Are you getting extended warranty?

    Nope, if they made the extended warranty starts after the initial warranty runs out that would be different, my X1 warranty expires Feb 15, if I get a 2 extended warranty it starts from the date of the original X1 purchase which was Nov 13 so a 2yr warranty
    will expire Nov15 only 9 months.

    This is pretty frustrating that it's a known issue, warranty or not, and they continue to be sold with faulty HDMI retimer chips. I am in the same boat just a few months after warranty expired.
