Xbox One wanting me to chose profile when I hit the A button on the controller

When u turn on your xbox, hit the guide button and chose sign in. Scroll to the bottom and select download profile....follow the on screen directions

Really wanted to spend the weekend playing Minecraft and the freezing issue has really hacked me off! I'm even more annoyed as I was going to get Trials: Evolution but hit the start button instead of B when deciding between Minecraft and Trials. So I accidentally
chose the one that doesn't work!!

Is this happening on all of the profiles or just one?

What I want you to try out is this.

1. Start any backwards compatible game.

2. Once loaded hit the start and select buttons at the same time (small round buttons on either side of the big xbox button on the controller) this will bring up the 360 emulator guide.

3. You should see the option to download profile click on that and it will ask for that particular accounts email and password once you put that in it will download your profile to the 360 emulator and should work for you.

4. If it is still giving you issues when the 360 guide comes up you may need to hit the Y button on the controller to sign out first then go to download profile.

This normally happens when you change your gamertag for any reason.

You would want to try and redownload your profile on the 360 emulator on the One follow these directions.

1. Load up any 360 game on the one.

2. hit the start and select buttons (small little round buttons on either side of the big xbox button on the controller) this will bring up the 360 guide there should be a choice to download profile there click on that

3. enter in email and password.

4. it should download your profile and work

You may have to sign out by hitting the Y button I believe first if you click on download profile and gives you the same error

Problem solved!

I returned the xbox one controller and stopped using the xbox 360 controller.

Purchasing a PlayStation 4 controller fixed the issue.

When I plugged it in it was NOT automatically mapped and I can now set up my own profile for the buttons. I no longer suffer from double keystrokes from the windows profile and my own profile when I hit a button. Good grief
