Xbox One Voice Commands Never Have Worked

My wife and I have been yelling at our Xbox One for a long time. We wonder why we even use the Kinect and Voice Command feature. Our first Kinect broke and we had to pay $69 for the replacement. We were hopeful this would change the experience. Nope, exactly
the same. Only way to get it to work is mute the TV. Decided to try Cortana today. Worse then regular commands. It just can't hear if there is any noise at all. Calibrating is useless. Muting the TV with no noise at all in the room is the only way to get voice
commands to work consistently. That does not make sense.

Why would you yell voice commands?

I have never yelled at my kinect and it always worked fine.

Hey there rush!

I'm sorry to hear about the issue. Just to cover all the bases here, have you already worked through the

voice commands troubleshooting guide? If not, start there. if you have, can you describe your console/Kinect sensor set up for us please? It sounds like it's possible there is something interfering with the Kinect's ability to "listen" properly. Do you
have a surround sound system set up with speaker close to the Kinect or something? Also, have you tried speaking to the Kinect/Cortana in a normal tone of voice vs yelling at it? (I recognize that that question sounds slightly patronizing, that is not my intent
- I'm simply trying to cover everything I can think of.)

Post back and let us know so we can see what we can dig up.

I've never been a fan of voice recognition until I tried it on the Xbox One. Voice commands on the Xbox One work very well for me and even if I whisper it listens to me. The only command I struggle with is party chat, but I'm
guessing the issue is the way I pronounce it because every other command works perfectly.

I dunno if it's just me but does anyone else have trouble using the Kinect voice command 'Xbox, Record that' because for some reason my console never responds to the command 70% of the time. It's fine with every other command it's just that one that's not
working...

My favorite feature is the voice commands. My least favorite is Xbox On never works.
