Xbox one “ Ventilation” error and shutting down

So i took apart the case and vacuumed out the entire unit, which had very little dust and seemingly none at all inside. I since have rebooted and attempted to update the software, and after about 5-6 minutes it shuts down. I reboot it again and it works
for a minute then again shuts down, this time when rebooting, the error appears Same as previously posted. “Ventilation”

    Im stumped.

this unit has been well cared for and minimally used. Kept of open air flow area with no obstruction, and the unit has always worked flawlessly previous to this.

Xbox one “ Ventilation” error and shutting down

    Hi!

Since you say your Xbox has had little use overtime, it may have collected dust and it's placement is affecting the ventilation of the console, I would suggest vacuuming the ventilation areas and if required, clean the xbox from the inside by opening it
up, though you may lose your warranty protection by doing such.

Consider the placement of the Xbox One, it requires reasonable room to ventilate efficiently, simply doing this may fix the concern.

Positioning of Xbox One S for Ventilation

Ventilation tips for keeping an Xbox One console cool can be found here: Ventilation for the Xbox
    One Console

The Xbox One S is mainly ventilated through the circular hole on top, and the sides of the console. I wouldn't recommend keeping it inside a closed space, but if it's getting fresh, cool air from somewhere, and the console is not shutting itself down to
protect from overheating, then it should be okay.

    Xbox won’t turn on

This could be a result of poor ventilation. The Xbox is designed to shut down to avoid overheating. Here is the

    support page
which walks you through console placement suggestions.

    Hope this helps!
