If you sell your old Xbox console, and get the $100.00 off, with the already low price, it is only $250.00.

Thought I agree with everyone here. He didn't have to buy the console day one. Price always drop

    :)

  3. Xbox Kinect no longer works!

I had this a year ago, when I first bought the xbox one. Ended up exchanging the entire setup because it could be the Kinect, the console or both.

So true. I bought the first two map-packs for Titanfall at $9.99 (Full price.). Seen the season pass on sale last week for $8.75, so purchased that just because it was cheaper than the $9.99 for the last map-pack. NOW the season pass is $6 and some change.
    Do I feel cheated? No.

Most things get cheaper; especially entertainment devices. Think of it this way, you got to watch the X1 grow over the last year...cherished memories that can't be bought for any of amount of money. These "newbies" got a console with most of the bugs worked
out; now where's the fun in that? ;-)

    Peace, J.R.

No, it's not. The launch Xbox had a Kinect, at cost of $500. The new discount price for that same Xbox with Kinect is $450. (The $350 model that everyone keeps mentioning has no Kinect - it's not a valid comparison)

Additionally, selling off property you own to fund a purchase is not the same as a general price reduction. (Selling your old 360 will still only bring a total of $350, comparing same models, btw - and you'll have to buy a new 360 when you want to revisit
some of your earlier game faves)

Yes, prices always drop, improvements get made, maybe chuck a game or two in for good measure. All of that is fine and dandy. I'll just point it out when people are throwing around nonsense numbers, is all. Xbox One users who bought console a year ago :)

I got mine a few months after release when the first deal appeared. I knew well that it would eventually drop in price and come with better deals/bundles/editions, but I couldn't wait any longer so I caved and got it. I do not regret this however as the
amount of enjoyment I've had over the last 8 or 9 months has been well worth it.

I've had Xbox 1 day 1, and here's why I can woo about it:

    1. Didn't pay full RRP for the Day 1 Edition (which is a limited edition which makes it unique). It came with Kinect and in NZ it retails for RRP NZ$749 but EB Games were selling the Day 1 Edition for $748, that's a 100 cent saving ;D Some here may say you
peps pay $749, it's because of NZ's currency. I believe the Australian version at launch was AU$599.

    2. Microsoft autographed my controller ^-^ they do so for all Day 1 editions aka Day One 2013 on the controller.

    3. Went to the midnight launch which 30 stores throughout NZ were doing a midnight launch. They gave away free wrist bands and necklaces with the Microsoft Xbox logo on it. And they packed my black boxed console in a big carry bag.

    4. Being amongst the first to the party. Instead of waiting behind a figurative barrier for prices to drop or reviews to come out. Forza 5 and Zoo Tycoon came out day 1 too.

    5. There are 365 days in a year. Xbox 1 won't officially turn 1 year old until 22/11/2014. For example if someone was born November 22, they don't biologically/legally turn 1 year old until November 22 the following year. Xbox is a really fun hobby and there
are those who invest/buy Xbox stuff, because it's fun.

I think the point OP is making, although in not the best way, is that no one could have imagined you would be able to buy a system for as little as $250, with trading in a 360, in less than a year of the X1 being released.

    -

Price drops are one thing; this is an avalanche.

Doesn't bother me that the Xbox One is cheaper now.

And as for you wanting some free stuff, how about you got to play the Xbox One for nearly a year were as other people waited, plus you have a Kinect, that worth $250 "Y'all"?

Didn't the PS3 get quite a sizable price reduction shortly after its launch?

Its obvious what is happening, they need to clear stock to make room for the Xbox Two. As the years pass, technology picks up speed, going from years between releases to months. Pretty soon things are going to be so fast that you will have to buy a new
console with each game that releases. But my advice is to wait a few hours before buying, just in case the price drops before the store closes!

@Shaggy...The original 60 gb model, released Nov 07, dropped $100 in its 8th month of release in N.A.. The major price drop didn't happen until Aug 2009 when the 80gb model was reduced to $299.

I would say the worth of the kinect is in the eye of the beholder. I have seen them listed as cheap as $20 bucks on ebay.
