Xbox One UPnP error using AT&T home mifi

when trying to play with friends, won’t allow due to UPnP error

AT&T tech sipport sent this but it didn’t remedy

1. Open the guide by pressing the Xbox button on your controller.
2. Move right to the System tab.
3. Select Settings.
4. Move down to Network.
5. Select Network settings.
6. Select Advanced settings.
7. Select DNS settings.
8. Select Manual.
9. Enter the following DNS servers: Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
   Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
10. Once you have finished, press B to exit the menu, and the Xbox will check your connection to make sure everything is working correctly.

Having the same issue UPnP error using AT&T home mifi we’ve always used.

 

Virgin mobile mifi

Some MiFi devices don't have UPnP.... including the MiFi 2200 according to forums.xbox.com/.../411275.aspx -
so I'd call Virgin Mobile support to ask them which of their hotspots have UPnP and Port Forwarding as those are often required for a decent connection.

I would suggest trying these DNS Servers: Primary DNS-1.1.1.1
Secondary DNS-1.0.0.1

If that doesn't work then I suggest looking over our article going over steps to resolve issues when the

UPnP is not successful during the multiplayer test.

Sorry to hear about the issue with UPnP. Want you to try something with the primary DNS and secondary:

Primary DNS: 1.1.1.1 Secondary DNS: 1.0.0.1 Try these instead.

If it keeps resetting you can try to do a
Soft factory reset.

We called AT&T and they are suggestion did not fix the problem. Then I did a chat with them this morning and they basically told me to call Microsoft

I recommend to try the following troubleshooting resource to further assist:

• UPnP not successful in your network settings

If you see “UPnP Not Successful” in your console’s Network settings, first check to see if your router needs an update. If your router has the latest manufacturer update:

1. Log in to your router’s setup webpage, and make sure its UPnP setting is turned on. You can usually find first time help with this in the router manual or on the manufacturer support site.
   
2. Turn the UPnP setting off, and save your changes.
3. Restart your console, your modem, and your router.
4. Turn the UPnP setting back on, and save your changes. If there’s a Zero Config setting, make sure it’s turned on as well.
5. Restart your modem and router.

We’re not using a router it is an AT&T home MiFi device

 

Unfortunately this did not work we will go to the link and see if we can try something else

 

Thank you unfortunately this did not work . I’m worried about doing a reset and losing any of the games we’ve paid for so I’m not quite sure how to handle the situation

We understand that there has been an issue with connecting to the home network because of a DNS error.

There is a How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One option to:

Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or
apps. This will save you from downloading or reinstalling the large game files. In some cases, if a corrupt game file is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose
Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with
Reset and keep my games & apps and save Reset and remove everything as a last resort.

Please note: This option will remove profiles, so it is best to ensure that any/all accounts on the console are account for with up to date passwords or verification information to recover/sign into the accounts.

Try this out for us, and let us know if this works.
