really? i never see an update ever. If you leave it in standby mode it updates everything overnight while you sleep. are you turning it completely off all the time?

 

.... it only does that for system updates... App updates you have to install.

I agree with the OP it seems like every time i load an app i haven't used in a week or so it has ANOTHER UPDATE.

 

yeah, I am I'm afraid, I know that would probably alleviate my annoyance. Its just that the xbox is in my room so when its on that 'connected standby', or whatever its called, its just sits there humming all night and I can't sleep

that aside though, there was a 1.5GB+ update at the weekend and now today after I get home from work there is another 1.5GB+ update!

 

I havent downloaded an update since before Titanfall. The only exception was Peggle 2.

 

I take it you are in the preview program, then, Cook. Having several updates is kinda the nature of the beast with being in a Beta program, because they have to release update after update to fix bugs found in the previous version. If the updates are that
big a concern, opt out of this program, and you will only get the one (finalized) system update per month.

As for apps and games, didn't they put background installs in the last system update? I haven't had to worry about those for awhile now, either.

Yeah, they are. If you're ever not sure, they post each time there's a new update in the announcements section of the preview forums.
