Xbox one updates reinstalling games

So my brother is too much of a coward to ask for help so i am posting this.

A few weeks ago my brother was trying to in spotify onto his external hard drive but it wouldn't work.

So he switched the default storage to internal and it managed to install.

He then switched back to external and since then every time he updates a game it has to reinstall it.

We have looked through all the help articles and the problem still persists.

Any advice before he decides to uninstall and reinstall all 57 games?

It could be possible that the external hard drive has adevloped a fault. Could you try another external drive and see if you get the same result?

The new updates (as per the Developers) have been all doing this in an effort to minimize the installation files being corrupted. We suggest reinstalling the games and checking the functionality. Hope this helps and feel free to bring us any other issues!

If you cancel an update for a game on your Xbox One you'll need to reinstall the game and start the update over again.

Simple Reality

I have already tried clearing my chach, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, deleting the update, and reinstalling it but my Xbox still freezes after one multiplayer game without fail.

Try the following steps to fix the issue:

Restart your Xbox and Xbox Game Pass app.

Update your Xbox One Console.

Update your games to the latest version.

Clear the cache on your Xbox One Console.

Reinstall the Xbox Game Pass app.

Uninstall and reinstall the game that's crashing.
