Xbox One Update

After turning on my Xbox One it goes to the home screen and logs me in. Then an overlay appears telling me that an update is available and to use my remote to either chose to update now or later. However the remote can't manipulate the overlay. It only manipulates
the home screen in the background. I can't get the overlay to go away so I can't play games or watch TV.

HELP!!!!

Please go into console settings and system settings and choose to update from there.

I assume you are either updating to the New Xbox One Experience (Win 10) look or the second mandatory update after the first.

Because I don't know what version, I cant provide specifics but if you are in the NXOE, double tap the xbox logo, choose settings and then system settings and choose updates.

 

Try doing a hard reset on the console. Not sure it will help for this issue but it is definitely worth a try. Press the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the console shuts down completely let is set for a couple of minutes then power
it back on. See if that resolves the issue. Post back with results. Good luck.

 

FYI restart the console via a Hard reset (hold down the xbox logo on the console until the system shuts off) and then turn it back on and go to update.
