Discus and support Xbox one update stage 2 turning off and not starting till I unplug it in and out. in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; It updates but turns off and will not restart when I hit the power button.     It updates but turns off and will not restart when I hit the power button. Do I need to wait for the update or should it be wast to turn on like part 1 of update?

    Hi Daniella,

    Which Xbox One model do you have - Original, One S, or One X? Share a photo of it here if you're not sure.

    Either way, your console should automatically restart by itself during the update.

    Is there a way to force the XBox to download any soft or game update at a precise moment of the day ?

    Start then pause updates wait till bedtime set xbox to turn off after a couple of hours restart updates should download and turn off while you slumber

    I was in the same boat. I recalibrated it several times and it never worked. So I did the following. Step 1) unclick the box for xbox on in settings. Also the three other boxes for xbox turn off. Step 2) Then hold down the power button on the xbox till it
    turns off. Step 3) Unplug the xbox for one minute. Step 4) plug it in and turn the xbox on. Then select the xbox on and turn off boxes again. Step 5) turn it off and see if it works.

    Kinect keeps turning off by itself

    Turn off the Xbox. Unplug the kinect and then the power cable. Let it sit for about a minuet. Plug the kinect back in and the the power cable and start it back up. Seems to be the way to fix it, however, if it doesn't work contact Microsoft and have them
    replace the kinect for you.
    My Kinect has been turning off since I bought the xbox one 3 years ago first kinect I had to unplug whole system 2nd kinect I bought I had to unplug kinect from the back. Would turn on and off and stay off till I unplugged it and was sluggish with my voice
    commands. When verizon fios upgraded me from a generation 2 router to a generation 3 router a few weeks ago both kinects work very well and never turn off or miss a voice command. It has something to do with the router.

    Updates but doesn't progress!

    I'm having the same issue. Whenever my xbox turn off it wont turn off so that means no restarting to finish the update. even if i unplug and and get it to start then power it off myself it still wont turn on unless i unplug it and plug it back up
