Xbox One Update Options

Why are all update manditory? The main reason I got the Xbox One on Day 1 was the Snap feature. I was very upset when the soul reason for upgrading to the One was taken away.

Now that my Xboxs require a few minutes to boot rather than a few seconds, why are all updates manditory? Why can we not have the option to install some updates? I understand some are manditory but there are a lot of functions I don't want and, at least
2, I want back.

Aside: You are Microsoft. The Kinect should always be an option (that's my #2).

Now, updates are mandatory as previously posted, but I'm sure a lot of other Xbox fans share the same opinion when it comes to the Snap feature. I suggest you post reinstitution of that feature at our
Xbox Ideas page, where Microsoft/Xbox take customer input and feedback.

Give that a shot and hopefully they will hear you out.

They are mandatory for a reason if you want to go online you need to update or dont but you are going to be offline from the service...

I feel your pain, we're in the minority for whom the Snap feature was a great and useful add on. Unfortunately, most people decided they didn't want to give it a go and used every opportunity to be negative about both Snap and Kinect. Microsoft decided
to go in a different direction, and I don't blame them. It would be nice to have something to replace snap though.
