Xbox one update has caused headset transmitter not to work!!!!!!

my son has a turtle beach headset with rf transmitter. The transmitter is plugged into a USB port on Xbox one and paired with headset.

we had a update on Xbox one and now the transmitter will not turn on atall. Have tried other USB ports and still no power to transmitter. Also tried on PC USB and again no power. Have gone through all steps to try and reset headset but no power to the transmitter.

if this was a cheap headset I would not mind but it cost £200 plus extra £20 for controller adapter.

it was purchased in December 2014 for Christmas present and has only been used a hand full of times, worked perfectly till now when have gone to use it.

It seems the Xbox software update has caused this and see many others have the exact same problem which does come down to Microsoft Xbox one update to the console. The headset works but needs the transmitter for receiving sound so at the moment have a expensive
headset that's hardly been used,still just like new and a broken transmitter due to Xbox updates So cannot use headset. I would like a reply regards this matter please

Sons turtle beach cod phantom headset transmitter will not power on atall

hi all, my son has turtle beach cod phantom headset with transmitter which worked perfectly on his Xbox one.

Done an Xbox update and now there is no power to the transmitter atall. The actual headset powers on but the transmitter has no power, so will not work with headset.

i have unplugged usb power cable from Xbox and transmitter and optical cable. Turned off both Xbox one & headset

connected all back up & still no power from the transmitter. He has only had since last Christmas and waiting on reply from turtle beach.

can anyone help atall?

August Xbox One update has broken my Turtle Beach x42 transmitter.

I just plugged my transmitter and optical cable into my XB1 turned the console on, the transmitter turned on then it turned off because I did not turn my headset on as well, the console did the latest August update and restarted, and then when everything
was done I turned on my headset which usually turns on the transmitter as well, the transmitter would not light up, as if no power is going to it, I tired un plugging the usb and plugging It back in, turning my headset off and on again, restarted the console,
and even tried to get It to work with my xbox 360 and still nothing happens, so now I have a headset with no in game audio, thanks microsoft. to get another transmitter I would have to buy the £100 headset again because nowhere sell the transmitter separately.
Has anyone else had this problem? Please let me know and tell me if there Is a fix, or tips to get the transmitter to work again.

find it hard to believe that a software update bricked a USB device, but ok.

check the Turtle Beach website, you can buy a replacement transmitters pretty cheap.

and you're not going to get any kind of an official response from Microsoft here.

 

Thanks Zero Divided, I am waiting on reply from turtle beach. Does seem rather odd & hope it is something simple to sort. Have come across on the forum others with same problem so something has obviously knocked the transmitter out..

after the latest updates my turtles beaches are acting weird also, but mine are the xo 7's and plug into the controller, no audio unless i keep pressing the audio effect button multiple times then the audio comes on, if the controllers go off then the same
thing happens. seems these updates are not nice to turtle beach.

 

Ghost was released before the xbox one and there were no TB headsets built for the xbox one at launch, so one option is its just just not upto date with the machine.

Do you use a chat adaptor for game chat? and do you use an MS or TB chat adaptor? If you don't have the TB one it might be worth trying it, easier said than done.

 

^Ghost was released on the 360 and the One at the same time.

You are correct and it released on November 22 for the One. My mistake I will add though the Turrtle Beach headsets were perfectly compatible with the One apart from game and party chat. The transmitters worked perfectly for game audio. I still
use mine occasionally. I will have to check its still working now! So its definitely not a 360 headset compatibility issue.

 

the points still the same TB didn't have XBOX one specific headsets at that time, and their )tb) stance is don't expect headsets to work on all devices they are different. (funny that wasn't their stance when they were trying to sell there stock before xbox
one versions came out)

(I was a cod player back then, i remember having to wait to play it on the one, it was also the last cod i bought )
