    XBOX One Update Failed, no network and loss of settings


    XBOX One Update Failed and I cannot connect via wireless. I lose what appears to be my settings and the system clock reverts to a different time and a date in May 2013. This happens periodically, I often reboot the console and it comes back correctly with
    the proper settings. Any assistance?

    Can you post your upload and download speed and packet loss as seen by the Xbox One?

    I get this same error during system start when it tries to update. Update failed - Can't download the update. To test your connextion, open System Settings and select Network Settings, Test Xbox Live Connection. Status Code: 4099 - 0000 - 0080 - 0300

    100% Packet Loss Problem

    The packet loss is your router not allowing the Xbox to connect on to the internet and on rare occasions it can be the ISP

    Try this first

    Hard reset the Xbox by holding down the power button on the front of the Xbox for 15 seconds. After the 15 seconds let go of the power button then restart the Xbox

    Power cycle your network by unplugging the power to the modem & router for about 60 seconds.

    If that fails then, go to Settings > Network > Network Settings > Forget Wireless Network

    - Go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate MAC Address > Clear > let the Xbox Restart

    - Try and reconnect to your wireless network again

    Try your network test again. If that fails then try the next steps.

    Go to Advanced settings > DNS Settings > Manual - Set the Primary DNS as 8.8.8.8 and the Secondary as 8.8.4.4

    Go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate MAC Address > Clear > let the Xbox Restart

    See what you're connection info is on the Xbox One

    Go to Settings > Network > Network Settings > Detailed Network Statistics

    It will show you Download / Upload / Packet Loss / MTU / Latency

    Download (3.5 Mbps higher the better)
    Upload (0.5 Mbps higher the better)

    Packet Loss (should be 0%)

    MTU 1480 (usually)

    Latency (Lower the better, no more than 150ms)

    Wireless strength should be 80% or better for good performance

    If the issue persists, Test your connection to Xbox Live:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Scroll to Settings and select All Settings.
    3. Under Network, select Network Settings.
    4. Select Detailed network statistics.
    If the test shows more than 5-percent packet loss, try troubleshooting your network performance
