Xbox One unexpectedly crashing

I've been having an issue for a while now where my xbox turns off randomly.

It started happening in my Xbox One Elite but didn't really think too much of it. Then I swapped to an Xbox One S and the same issue is occuring.

I originally thought it might have been the external hard drive as that was the one item hooked up to both consoles, but the issue still occurs.

It can happen at anytime. Halfway through a game, when I'm on the home screen, watching blurays, netflix etc etc. No consistency to it at all.

The only thing I can think of, if one of the save game/game files on the current console that might have been swapped over (moved to the external, then moved to the One S) was corrupt in some way that would be causing this. Even if I'm not playing that particular
game?

Does anyone know about this type of issue happening?

That's not good! Take a look at the >>troubleshooting guide<< related to the issue you're experiencing.
Give those steps a shot first and let us know if we need to move on to something else.

Does the game crash?
Does the console power off unexpectedly?
