    Xbox one unable to play DVDs


    Hi,

    I'm looking for some information about this problem.

    I've had xbone since day 1,originally I played a couple of DVDs but recently tried and none work, tried different DVDs including ones I had previously played with no luck.

    Reinstalled blu ray player, no luck.

    Blu rays and games still read perfectly.

    Any suggestions as to what the fault is?

    How are you connecting the xbox to the TV?

    Not all HDMI ports on your TV will be HDCP enabled, so try each port until it works.

    Hi all, hoping someone can shed a bit more light on an issue I've had since bought the console last year.

    Basically, the Xbox One does not read any DVD that I own. I have the Blu Ray/DVD player app installed however when I put a DVD in, the console simply does not acknowledge that a disk is in there.

    I've read a couple of very old forum posts that never seem to have an answer to the problem. The console plays game disks absolutely fine and oddly enough it will play region free Blu Ray disks, which leads me to believe there is some issue with the region
    settings perhaps?

    I really don't want to be sending the Xbox to Microsoft for repair so I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue - if so please post here to get some awareness on the problem and if you have a fix for this then please don't be shy Xbox one unable to play DVDs :)

    Xbox One DVD flicker and aspect ratio!!!!!

    I have the same problem with DVD playback, however, it's only on DVDs recorded on a toshiba DVD recorder. Bought DVDs play in the correct aspect ratio on Xbox one, but recorded DVDs play in 4:3. However, on every other DVD player, they play in widescreen.
    On Xbox 360 I can adjust the aspect ratio in settings. I cannot find how to do this on the Xbox one.

    Each Xbox One console is manufactured for a specific Blu-ray and DVD region, following international standards. The Xbox One console can play Blu-ray discs and DVDs that are sold in the same region as the console.

    Some Blu-ray discs and DVDs are not region-encoded or are coded to all regions. Region-free Blu-ray discs and DVDs will play on any Xbox One console.

    What DVD are you trying to play? What prevents you from playing the DVD? Did you make sure that the DVD matches your region, and isn't imported?

    All 200+ DVDs and BluRays in my collection work perfectly fine on my Xbox One X as well as my old original Day One Xbox One.
