XBOX One unable to play 4K recorded videos

If you are seeing the green screen with audio only that would mean that the videos are going not going to be able to be viewed from the Xbox One S.

Does your Xbox one 4K recording at
hevc codec? I know some xbox one models support hevc codec when recording video at 4k resolution. If you adjust settings from 4k hevc to 4k h264, your resulting file would be much larger. I'm not sure if this would affect the 4k recording disappearing.
To make recording files smaller, it lets you record video at 1080p?

I've consulted the support.xbox, but they all discuss about the 4k video playback error on tv, not 4k recording.

If you are using an Xbox One X or Xbox Series X console, you should be able to record gameplay videos in 4K resolution using the built-in Game DVR feature. However, if you are using an older Xbox console or a third-party capture device, you may not be able to record in 4K resolution.



To check if your console supports 4K recording, go to Settings > Preferences > Capture & share > Capture settings and check if the "Allow 4K" option is available. If it is not available, your console may not support 4K recording.
