Xbox One unable to connect to wireless network

    Hi there!

I have been having an issue with my Xbox for about five days now. First of all, I have owned my Xbox One for three months now, with no problem whatsoever. I run a wireless internet network in my house, and there has been no flaw so far. All of a sudden,
the Xbox stopped receiving the wireless signal, giving me the error message "cannot connect to your DHCP server". My desktop computer and mobile devices all continue to work fine, so I assumed the problem was with the Xbox. Speaking to Xbox Support, I was
given several options to resolve this issue:

    • Various restarts of console and router
    • Port forwarding and changing the IP address
    • Factory reset on the Xbox (thanks for that, Microsoft, I now need to reinstall all my games and apps once again)
    • Exchange my Xbox with a new one
As you can probably imagine, none of these options worked at all. I tried a wired connection which worked fully, so the problem is literally with the wireless connection only. I have spoken with my ISP (Plusnet in this case) and they have also tried to suggest
their own remedies, but have insisted that, due to my other devices working, this is an issue with the Xbox console and not the internet, which I can understand.

I am now at my wits end, having tried numerous options to no avail and at the point where I will need to see if I can exchange the machine. I just wanted to pop the question on here in case there were any bright ideas from the community to how to fix this.

    Please Help!

    :)

Xbox One Unable to Connect to Wireless Network

    Hello,

I recently got a new network plan, and was given a new network, a new router, a new everything. Day 1 was ok–my xbox one was connected and everything went smoothly. Then, for no apparent reason, my xbox was not connected on day 2 and I haven't been able
to connect to my wifi ever since.

This is what I've known so far from trial-and-error:

    - I have tried hard resetting the xbox, unplugging then plugging in the router and xbox.

    - I have tried using an ethernet cable (this works but I am trying to get a wireless connection)

    - I have tried using my mobile phone's hotspot and xbox had no problems connecting to my phone's hotspot.

    - All other devices in my household (phones, laptops, ipads) have no problems connecting to my wifi

    - I have turned off all security preferences from my wifi.

    - I have verified that the network password is indeed correct.

    - No mac addresses are banned by my router.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? It puzzles me how I have no problems connecting via ethernet cable, and my xbox is also able to connect to another network, yet I can't seem to get my xbox to connect to my wifi wirelessly.

    Thanks,

    Davis

  4. Xbox One unable to connect to wireless network

Others have reported that changing the wireless channel helped , still others had to "reset the router to factory defaults" , if those don't work (did you do the static ip and port forward?) I would have to think that it is the xbox ones wireless and not
yours ...another way to test would be if there is a close by friend or family member where you could take the xbox one and test on their network...my favorite option is to just run cable and wire it , I think that's a much better connection anyway and cat5
cable is dirt cheap and comes in any color ...

[/quote]Were the last of these options only an option, or did you actually exchange your console with a new one?

In addition to Bimnog's good suggestions, make sure no one in your household have played you a bit of a trick, and placed your console in the wireless MAC filter list on your wireless router.

Can you also post up the make and model of your wireless router and your modem as well.

    Thanks!
