Xbox One unable to connect to wifi majority of the time

My Xbox One is very fickle on connecting to wifi. Back when Halo 5 released, I turned on my Xbox One to purchase it and noticed my XBO wouldn't connect to my wifi. This was weird as it had been working fine all previous times I used it. I enter in my
password and it doesn't connect. Try it dozen or more so times out of frustration and it finally connects. I purchase Halo 5 and start the download where it disconnects. I take it down into my basement and plug it in directly to finish the download. The
next day I go to play the game. I connect for one game and at the completion of the game XBO disconnects from wifi and I can't connect. I restart my modem/router and try connecting it a dozen or so times out of frustration and it doesn't. At this time I'm
convinced I'm going to boycott it until I find some sort of answer to my problem.

I search and don't really find anything that matches my issue I'm having. Today, I boot it up to see if it'll connect and does first try. I download the update and decide I want to play Mass Effect. Stick in the disc and download the game. While it
downloads I leave to go do something to pass the time. I come back boot up the game and XBO disconnects. "Ok it's an offline game I can deal" but after booting up Mass Effect it wants me to download my profile. "Well, crap" I can't connect. Restart my
router/modem and Xbox. Power off and unplug all my wireless devices and still doesn't connect.

Long story short. I can scan for wireless networks and see mine and everyone else's around me. I've gone into my routers setting and authorized the MAC address. I've shut down the firewall. I've power cycled the router and modem dozens of times. Nothing
can get my XBO to connect unless it feels like it that day.

What is wrong with my Xbox?

Can't connect to xbox live

My wifi is working I can connect to it with my laptop and phone but my xbox is unable to connect to my wifi or any wifi in the area. It is also unable to connect when I use an ethernet cord. I have restarted and unplugged everything but I still have the
same problem.

Unable to connect to wifi. I was able to connect when I purchased new xbox one s, now I'm unable. I've tried the unplug bit to no avail. I'm not very familiar with router settings, as very unsure of what to look for, etc... Novice understanding of how
it all really works. All I've ever had to do in the past was simply type in the wifi password and bingo it all worked.

 

If you have not done so already log into your router and try changing the channel your wifi broadcasts on in case it is suffering from interference. Also if available you should try to connect using the 5ghz frequency as this is a less crowded frequency.

 

Yep, tried that as well. Still not connecting.

 

Well, now the wireless card can't find any networks even when I've got the router sitting on top of the Xbox. RIP wireless card and RIP Xbox one, I hardly knew thee. GG.
