  1. Xbox ONE UI Suggestions, Navigation at present state causes frustration.

Evening, Firstly I would like to thank anyone who spends the time just to read this post. *HUG*

I am a big Xbox Fanboy and always have been thanks to the online community and online presence of the game system in general, thank you for excelling here!

But one thing frustrates me and everyone I know whom have purchased an Xbox One Console.

I have even had many friends who have sold there consoles second hand and moved to PS3 or PC Gaming solely because of this fact.

UI for not only the console itself but the Xbox Store, and Microsoft website have been simplified so much it makes navigation difficult or use in general difficult.

I am not here just to complain or anything I've generally at least been content with services and changes Microsoft had made to there site and the console, But mostly I am happy with the changes except for this.

I would like to post suggestions Not like anyone from the Microsoft team would actually read this but in the slight chance this passes there eye this is what I as a consumer would love to see.

    Suggestions:

Allow us to group item pinned to our home menu, or create multiple pages "panel" we can slide left and right to

Giving us the ability to place Apps in a group together, Games in a group. OR via any personal preference, you may like to have your 'Daily Playing games' all grouped on the first page then the least played stuff grouped else where. what ever you like.

Allow us to set sort by options "sort by name alphabetically, time played, Achievements obtained, or others"

Allow us to Modify the actually Home Screen itself its much to messy and gives us no creative control over how we can adjust the functionality of the UI.

One thing that could be implemented as I am under the believe the home screen settings are stored via Cloud so changing consoles allow the preferences to move with you? is you can allow us to login to our Xbox profile on a PC or Mobile Device, and remotely
alter the UI setup, Set a Home Page remotely or even add and change the Wallpaper which is another thing that should be implemented.

Even if this is a feature that can only be done on a PC or Mobile device that is joined to the same Network as your console.

The Xbox store also needs a Revamp completely, you have to go too deep to get the information you need when Browsing for purchases, this is a big thing for me as I prefer digital downloads to physical copies of anything. I am even happy to spend the extra money
for the digital copy as Digital copies cost full retail when you can get physical copies from Retails like JB HIFI or EB Games for 30% off normal retail near or at release date! Yes I know I am crazy but this way you cannot trade back your games, and more
money is given to the game developers, I prefer supporting the game devs over EB Games and other retailers profiting fully of resold copies of the games.

The store needs to display Pricing for each item on the Primary screen. And go back to the old school format of going into the game to view all 'Downloadable content' for that game along side of having a Downloadable Content store.

Plus Release Dates, or Availability shown on the front page with the price also

Another thing I would love is for the UI itself to be adjusted by size and location, and by this I mean not everyone wants to have all the icons and widgets to consume the entirety of there screen. This is a feature that's apart of Windows 8 which is useful
but you could expand apon this instead of only allowing us to adjust apps into Columns and then adjust icon size, let us have a APP/GAME BAR which we can choose that runs down either side of the screen which will have a list of the apps in an ICON Size of
either small medium large or wide. or have the bar run along the top or bottom of your screen.

then you can have an ACTIVE Bar placed on either the side top or bottom also, and given the option to SNAP TO your App/Game bar if desired.

This will show the active applications and games you have started, not just the primary but show all active running apps if running multiple.

Other things that could be implemented is the removal or addition of certain widgets on selected pages of your menu.

Can have a Xbox Store Widget added which you can choose to display new additions to categories in the thumbnail. Like New Releases, Coming Soon, Top Rated ect.

A Widget to show Live feed of your Achievements in a bar or column format showing your recent Achievements obtained your total Achievement score and your total combined achievement completion %. and possibly the ability to add your 'Favourite Friends' latest
achievements pop up here form time to time also.

The possibilities are endless so I do not see the reason to limit our ability to customize, let us bring a new level or personality to our consoles and profiles this will bring a whole new level of devotion to the Xbox One Master race without a doubt.

Yet again I thank anyone for reading this poorly written and rushed suggestion feed.

    Much Love From Aus

    -Justown

    :)

  2. Xbox One: UI suggestions

I'm hoping they will let us put a background image behind the app boxes.

    Xbox One: UI suggestions

I am really enjoying my Xbox One. The multitasking and the standby mode quickly made me aware that this is the next generation of consoles before I even tried my first game on it. That said, it still has a lot of issues regarding it's UI and I will give
some suggestions here to fix that.

Add a scrolling function to Smartglass when browsing. Also regarding smartglass, allow us to use one device as a trackpad and the other as a keybord when browsing, this will make the experience a lot better and more simillar to browsing on a PC.

Allow us to customize the snap function regarding it's screen size by either choosing an exact size with the controller/voice commands or dragging the screen with gestures through the Kinect.

Groups take too much space from the screen when snapped. It should be just a small bar on the top of the screen or something like that with all the options reachable through voice commands.

Show notifications when a friend signs in or out and give the option to turn them off.

Make the Youtube app possible to snap and compatible with Smartglass.

That's all I can think off now, post your own suggestions here and say what you think about the ones I made.

One thing I also forgot to mention is removing the ability for us to listen to music on the device while playing games, this was one of the features I used the most on my Xbox 360, for a Console which had more focus on the aspect of being a MEDIA CENTRE
more then a Gaming Console the inability to stream or play music while playing a game, or access Network Fileshares to watch and view Videos/Pictures/Music is a big kick in the guts for me also.

  5. Another thing that would be extremely useful in the store would be a cart. It kinda sucks to hate to buy each item individually and then go back to the store to find the next item etc.

If I play on buying multiple items, I would like to be able to stick them all in my cart and then buy them all at once. It annoyed me on the 360 and it annoys me on the Xbox One that we still can't do this, especially since even the lowly PS3 had this feature
    7 or 8 years ago.

how many people are on x1 and x360 these days

I'm actually okay with the UI on the Xbox One, it's not that slow and quite easy to navigate, it only took me about 10-15 minutes to get used to the Xbox One's UI, but I agree the PS4 has an amazing UI though.

    New interface on Xbox1

I understand the frustration, it's always a bit of a struggle after such a big change like this. I've spent some time trying to get to know the ins and outs of the new UI and while I don't hate it, personally I did prefer the old UI more. It did seem easier
to navigate compared to this new one. Xbox has been great over the last few years about listening to customer feedback so hopefully they will continue to improve the new UI and make it better for everyone.

    Simplicity vs. Complexity in Design

I like the Xbox One UI, but then again I do own a Windows Phone and I have Windows 8 OS on all my computers. The Xbox One UI is easy to navigate and made even easier with voice commands.
