  1. XBOX ONE - Two consoles in same house, 1 gamertag - how seamless?

    Hi all,

So with the XBOX ONE deals I am considering getting a 2nd XBOX ONE for my media room.

But I have a few questions... XBOX 360 was quite poor for trying to use one XBOX LIVE Gamertag on two consoles, at least back when I tried it a long time ago. It was a very cumbersome process you would not want to do every day.

    So, a few scenarios:

Assuming all games are digital, all saves are in the cloud, and gamertag was initially set up on both consoles, how smooth will the following scenarios work out?

Scenario 1: Let's say I have DESTINY in digital on both consoles. I start playing upstairs, save game in cloud, exit game, do *not* log out of live, then move downstairs and log in there with same Gamertag - will downstairs console automatically log out upstairs
    console?

Scenario 2: I am watching Netflix/WWE Network/etc on my gamertag upstairs. Someone continues to watch that upstairs and I go downstairs to play a game on same gamertag. Will the streaming video upstairs be shut down or continue to work since it does not require
live subscription? Will downstairs seamlessly log in?

Scenario 3: I am streaming XBOX Music on my gamertag upstairs. Someone continues tot listen upstairs and I go downstairs to play a game on same gamertag. Will the streaming audio be shut down or continue to play?

I haven't owned two of the same console ever but in my current situation it would make sense for games and media. I just want to know if I can go between the two easily without having to jump through hoops as was the case with XBOX 360. If someone could give
some insight on any of the above scenarios it would be very helpful - thanks.

    :)

    Digital Games

Will the same two tier license work on Xbox One as it did on Xbox 360 though? e.g. you get a license for the console and a license for the Gamertag.

Digital content on 2 Xbox Ones ?

Not quiet how it works, no
Not quiet how it works, no.

A digital licence is applied in two ways

    EDIT: See post below

1 - To the machine that it is installed
2 - To the gamertag that has the game installed on

How to "share" a game (best with an example!)

John has Forza and James has Fifa - they both wan to be able to play both games on their machines, what is the best way to get around this?

John - Installs Forza on James' Xbox One - This means that the licence applies to John's gamertag and James Xbox

James - Installs his Fifa on John's Xbox - This means the licence applies to James gamertag and John's Xbox

Now when John logs in on his Xbox he has his digital Forza attached to his gamertag, meaning he can download to his Xbox. For Fifa, he can use John's licence because that was installed on his machine.

    And vice versa

    Hope that makes sense!

  4. XBOX ONE - Two consoles in same house, 1 gamertag - how seamless?

The answer to all 3 of your questions is yes. If you sign in on a 2nd Xbox One with the same GT, you will be kicked off the other one and get the messaged "Signed out of a different Xbox One" and "You've been signed in on another Xbox One".

Just make a 2nd Xbox Live Account for the second Xbox. It's not that hard =)

Basically YES XBOX ONE - Two consoles in same house, 1 gamertag - how seamless? ;)

    No, seriously:

Scenario 1: that's exactly how it is. Games are automatically synchronized with the cloud. The moment you log in on the second console you will be logged out on the first one. Games can be played on both consoles with your account and as savegames are synchronized
the moment you start a game the one should recognize that the savegame data in the cloud is newer than the locally stored one and download it.

This also answers the two other scenarios. As I said, the moment you log in into your second one you will be automatically be logged out on the first one. What did this mean: well, apps which needs an active login (not a gold subscription!) will be interrupted.
Apps which don't need a login, will continue. So for example: live TV continues, media player, too. YouTube for example will be interrupted, I guess Netflix as well.

    This brings us to

Scenario 2: the video will be interrupted on log out

Scenario 3: the music will continue (or will be at least able to restart)

    Does this answer your questions?

He is not wanting that, if you read carefully. He wants to know if he can continue gaming on the second console seamlessly. Take a look at my first and detailed reply, that's whats he wanted to know. XBOX ONE - Two consoles in same house, 1 gamertag - how seamless? ;)
