Xbox one TVs issue and blu ray

Firstly I must say I love my Xbox one so glad I upgraded it but the two issues I have are doing my nut in.

    1) hooked my sky box up to my Xbox and the delay is unreal especially watching the football anyone managed to fix it

    2) when watching a blu Ray it is in a widescreen ratio it is so frustrating as I cannot adjust the ratio on it

    :)

    3D playback not working

Xbox One supports 3D Blu-ray discs when played on 3D TVs. Try checking whether there are any updates for The Blu-ray player app

Xbox one only plays some blu rays in 3d

My xbox one will only play one blu ray in 3d, the film Dredd. Every other one I own plays the 3d disk in 2d only. The xbox is connected directly into my bush 3d tvs hdmi 1 port with a known good hdmi cable that works with my 3d blu ray player. All the
films play in 3d using my lg blu ray player using the same port and cable. I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling the blu ray app and 3d in enabled in settings.

The issue appears localised to xbox. Is this a hardware/software issue, should I return my xbox?

Sorry for the long post and thank you for any information anyone can provide.

    1. Connect the Sky straight to TV. The moment you put stuff between a source and the receiver you'll get delay. It will be impossible to eliminate this completely. It doesn't take long before the novelty of asking xbox to "Watch TV" and change channel
    to wear off.

    2. What ratio would you prefer? You may need to use the TV's settings to sort it.

I like what they have tried to do with the pass through and blu-ray player but to be honest it's doesn't do either justice. Find the blu-ray player slow and less responsive than my old player. Only good thing is being able to tell it to pause and play again.
This is why I now have 3 HDMI's back in use on my TV after trying to do all via one.

Xbox ONE vs Stand alone Blu Ray!

xbox one "will" support 4k blu-rays in the future. They just haven't announced it when it will. So if you buy 4k blu ray movies they will not play yet on the xbox one. as with standard blu rays I find it only noticeable on larger blu ray tvs. I have
a 4k 70in tv, the only way I can currently see blu ray formatted shows is on the built in apps in the tv. Mainly Netflix.

Hdr washed out colors and dimmer during hdr content

I too have been having similar, if not the same issues. I just bought an Xbox One S and LG 65UH8500 4K Ultra HD LED TV. I have a bunch of 4K Blu-Rays and NONE of them play with the vivid bright HDR colors as you see on the TV's in stores. I played Trolls
side by side from a regular Blu-Ray and my 4K disc/setup and the color is way brighter on the regular Blu-Ray. 4K blu-rays through the Xbox one are dull as crap. I've tried all sorts of setting combinations between both the Xbox and the TV and nothing is fixing
it. This is such a bummer because I want to watch these movies in 4k not regular HD but I can't even enjoy them.

    Xbox one X 4k Blu-ray playback issues

well I returned my Xbox one x for a new one and guess what same problem. The issue is called macroblocking.

The issue isn’t the hardware it’s tbe Blu-ray application.

I called Microsoft and they didn’t know what I was talking about. They are blaming my tv even though I didn’t have the problem the entire time I used my Xbox one S watching 4k Blu-ray movies.

    My

Xbox one x didn’t have this issue until after the mid November update to the Blu-ray app.

    Blu-Ray Audio no secondary track/commentary

I suggest giving these steps a shot and let us know how it goes:

    1. Disable the 24 Hz setting in Disc and Blu-ray settings menu. For steps to do that, check out our

      Disc and Blu-ray settings
      support article.
    2. If you're still having issues, it might be the result of TV processing. Try disabling any motion/smoothing processing on your TV.
