Xbox one tv UK setup

Had a couple of friends say that as well but didn't think it would use that much electric myself.

My electric bill is bad enough at times,certainly not adding to it lol.

That's weird - why can't you access the planner from the One Guide? I've seen loads of people comment that the One Guide works quite well with the Virgin Media TiVo guide - are you saying that it just doesn't work with Sky or that it doesn't work at all...??

I think he's saying that it doesn't let you access things that have been saved on the sky hard drive.

Live TV is fine, but no way of getting to anything else without picking up the sky remote.

And who watches TV live these days? (well I do, but I'm an old fart!)

 

@Majikthise Thats the why I understood it to work anyway.

My understanding was that you use the One Guide to just see whats on and change channels, and then if you want to access the recordings on the cable box (or use any of the box's other features), you would still need to use the Sky/Virgin remote anyway.

 

Yes - spot on. Anything on the sky HD you have to use the sky box and remote for. Plus there is no record button on the Xbox one remote.... so you can't set things to record through one guide.... or you can't access things like sky box office etc. Not without
scrolling all the way through the channel list anyway. Pointless at the moment. I am sure they will sort it before too long...

 

I have also noticed that if I use my youview box to view iPlayer, 4OD etc I can pause, rewind etc. I can do this with live TV also all through the Kinect / OneGuide

Also make sure you get the correct Sky box, youview box details as updates to functions will follow if MS can get the codes used to do things correct so updates will hopefully follow
