Xbox One - TV function not working (UK Sky)

having issues with the hdmi in port on my xbox one. I will describe my equipment and setup, if anyone has any ideas please let me know



Equipment as follows:

Pioneer Plasma TV with one HDMI port (old plasma model PDP-435PE).

HDMI Switch - Duro NIC HDS 3 Smart HDMI Switch. This is used to connect the Blu Ray player/Sky box to the TV due to only 1 HDMI port on TV. Could be dropped from Setup (I've tried removing it and using Xbox HDMI for the Sky box to run through with no luck)

Sky HD Box connected via HDMI (connected to home network via Ethernet)

Yamaha AX750 Amp (old model with no HDMI ports)

Xbox connected to gigabit Network (Ethernet).



Setup as follows:

Sky HD box connected to Xbox via HDMI in port

Xbox HDMI out connected to the HDMI Switch (also tried directly to TV to remove possibility of Switch not behaving). Xbox audio via digital out to Yamaha Amp.

Switch connected to TV.



Problem is that there is no picture or sound. When I use the TV setup option in Settings on the Xbox, the Xbox can control the TV and Amp. I get the Message "A signal is being received from your set up box" - this then drops out and says no connection
from setup box. The connection then is re-established and I get "The picture may take 12 seconds to display" screen. I can leave this on for as long as I want, the picture never displays. When I first tried this, the Xbox kept being powered off and I'd
have to turn it off and wait for it to reboot (hard reset was performed as if the power was turned off at the wall). It no longer does this, but I get a black screen for the TV function.

Since the Sky works via the hdmi switch into my Pioneer, and the Xbox works fine via the switch too, is it an encryption problem due to the hdmi in, through the xbox to the TV. I know other people have had other UK receivers working via this method (Sky
and other cable boxes) so any advice would be greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating.

Restart (pull plug) XB1 to get Live TV working after 'sleep mode'

I've found i loose my tv signal if i don't turn my sky box on before i turn the xbox on, as the uk doesn't have the advanced tv functions the xbox doesn't turn my sky box on with my tv and av receiver and if i forget I'm left with a black screen and have
to restart with sky turned on to get it back.

[/quote]There was some information recently that suggested that they were working on a deal with sky and a subsidized Xbox don't know if it's true or not.

 

Anyone from MS to help with this issue - it's been up for two days now

 

First, I would try simple: HDMI 2.0 cables or better: STB HDMI Xbox One HDMI TV. See what those results are. The other issue is most cable providers in the UK run 50Hz (not ideal). We have a long-term strategy for this market, please stay tuned for more

I have the exact same problem it can't find the sky box just a black screen, I have tried change cables different screen resolutions nothing works so annoying does anybody have sky working on there Xbox one ?

 

Yes I have Sky working, it's a bit jerky and suffers from crushed blacks , works fine for signal though,

 

I have Virgin and am experiencing problems with the Tivo box losing connection when the Xbox is powered down to standby. Every couple of days I have to go through and reset all the tv settings for it to re-establish connection with the Tivo box.

I have posted in another thread about it to see if the 'change the HDMI cable thing' is the answer as I can, and do watch live tv through the xbox, just annoying that I have to reset the tv settings every few days. Seriously considering disconnecting the
Tivo and going 'old school' to watch tv. I don't particularly want to but it's just easier than this faff ...
